Objective: Observe the clinical effect of II prescription of cervical vertigo curing the cervical vertigo with the syndrome of phlegm-damp blocking middle jiao, discuss the mode of action of this prescription and analyze the advantages for therapy,as to lay a theoretical foundation for further developing and popularizing the II prescription of cervical vertigo. Methods: The clinical research is conducted on the basis of the randomized controlling principle,70 patients meeting the standard and with the cervical vertigo with the syndrome of phlegm-damp blocking middle jiao are selected as objects and are subdivided into two groups, the Chinese medicine group and the Western medicine group, through applying the randomized digital table, with 35 patients in each group. The Chinese medicine group is treated with II prescription of cervical vertigo, and the Western Medicine Group is disposed with Flunarizine Hydrochloride Capsules. Two groups are operated the five-step cervical reset operation and are required to do the functional exercise after the first therapy with II prescription of cervical vertigo. The symptom of cervical vertigo, function score, cervical vertigo optimization index, pain score of neck,TCM syndrome and decrement rate of integral are recorded for all patients prior to the therapy, after the first therapy and in the follow-up three months.Additionally, the patients' vertical-basilar arterial blood flow velocity are examined through applying TCD technology. The evaluation of therapeutic TCM syndrome and illness are conducted after the follow-up three months. All the mentioned data is firstly collated and secondly analyzed through applying statistical software SPSS21.0.Results: Two groups have no significant difference in the fields of gender, age, course of disease, weight, height,TCD examination, evaluation sheet of cervical vertigo, pain score,TCM syndrome score and other general data(P>0.05),and accordingly these two groups are comparable. After the first therapy, the evaluation sheet of cervical vertigo, and vertical-basilar arterial blood flow velocity of patients of both groups are increased, and compared with the Western medicine group, the Chinese medicine group is remarkably increasing in these data(P<0.05).The neck pain score,TCM syndrome score and the pulsatility index of vertical-basilar arterial blood of both groups are decreased, and compared with the Western medicine group, the Chinese medicine group is remarkably decreasing in these data(P<0.05).The cervical vertigo optimization index, and decrement rate of TCM syndrome integral of Chinese medicine group are higher than Western medicine group's(P<0.05).After the follow-up three months, the symptom of cervical vertigo, function score, and vertical-basilar arterial blood flow velocity of patients of Chinese medicine group are increased compared with the group's data after the first therapy(P<0.05),the Western medicine group's are decreasing(P<0.05),and the Chinese medicine group's are higher than Western medicine group's(P<0.05).The neck pain scores of both groups are decreasing compared with the first therapy(P<0.05),and the data of two groups are decreasing to a similar degree(P>0.05).TCM syndrome score and the pulsatility index of vertical-basilar arterial blood of Chinese medicine group are decreasing compared with the data after the first therapy(P<0.05),the Western medicine group's are increased(P<0.05),and the Chinese medicine group's are lower than Western medicine group's(P<0.05).The cervical vertigo optimization index of Chinese medicine group is not significantly changed compared with the data after the first therapy(P>0.05),the Western medicine group's is decreasing(P<0.05),and the Chinese medicine group's are higher than Western medicine group's(P<0.05).The decrement rate of TCM syndrome integral of Chinese medicine group is higher than the data after the first therapy(P<0.05),the Western medicine group's is not significantly changed(P>0.05),and the Chinese medicine group's are higher than Western medicine group's(P<0.05).Given the results of TCM syndrome and efficacy comparisons between patients;of both groups, the Chinese medicine group prevails(P<0.05).Conclusion: The efficacy of II prescription of cervical vertigo curing the cervical vertigo with the syndrome of phlegm-damp blocking middle jiao is superior to Flunarizine Hydrochloride Capsules' with lasting therapeutic effect. The II prescription of cervical vertigo is advantaged in simultaneous treatment of branch and root symptoms and in the overall treatment concerning both the asthenia and sthenia symptoms. Thus, this prescription is regarded as the effective prescription in syndrome differentiation treating cervical vertigo with the syndrome of phlegm-damp blocking middle jiao based on syndrome differentiation, and deserves to be further developed, popularized and applied widely in clinic.
