?Objectives?1.To investigate the psychological stress and medical coping styles of patients with pulmonary embolism disease,an in-depth and semi-structured interview was conducted.2.To learn the medical coping modes of patients with pulmonary embolism,a cross-sectional study was conducted based on the interaction theory.?Methods? This study included two parts. In the first study,an in-depth and semi-structured interview guideline was used by us to explore the psychological and behavioral express;in the second part,we built the questionarires and conduct cross sectional study based on the interaction theory. And 217 patients with PE were included in our study.?Results?1.The result of the first part of this studyThe psychological stress reaction of patients with pulmonary embolism can be divided into two stages and six themes. Before diagnosis: neglect and contempt, concer and anxiety, seriously and fear;after diagnosis: the MUIS increased, subjectivity paresthesia, worried and unhelpless.2.The result of second part of this study(1)The mean scores of confrontation, avoidance and acceptance-resignation were 19.40(SD=2.53),13.09(SD=2.39),and 16.20(SD=2.59),respectively.Compared to norms, the avoidance scores were lower than norms(P<0.05);while the scores of acceptance-resignation was higher than norms(P<0.05);whereas,compared to norms, there were no significant difference between the scores of confrontation and norms(P>0.1).(2)The result of univariate analysis of varianc showed that for the dimension of confrontation, patients with different age, length of hospital stay and length of ICU stay showed different scores(P<0.05);in terms of acceptance-resignation dimension, the scores were different in defferent groups of sex, education level, monthly income, length of hospital stay,Caprini scores and length of ICU stay(P<0.05);for advidonce dimension, the influencing factors include age, education level, martial situation, whether have complication, the numbers of complication, length of hospital stay and length of ICU stay(P<0.05).(3)For confrontation dimension, there were two predictors: age and length of hospital stays, all of them could explain 9.2% of the total variance; For acceptance-resignation dimension, there were also two predicetors, caprini scores and monthly income;these variables could predict the variance of acceptance-resignation scores 73.3%;For avoidance scores, there were three predictors: age, educaton level and length of hospital stay;they got 48.9% explained variance to avoidance scores.(4)Structural equation mode results showed that the structural equations of the Fit Index were good.?Conclusions?1.Patients with pulmonary embolism disease showed negative medical coping modes. So learning the stress reaction for patients with pulmonary embolism disease may contribute to medical straff making special measures, and then improving patients' medical coping styles.2.The scores of avodiance dimension were lower than norms, while the scores of acceptance-resignation dimension were higher than norms, and compared with norms, there was no statically significant difference between them.Age and length of hospital stay are influcing factors for confrontation dimension of medical coping modes;caprini scores and monthly income are predictors for acceptance-resignation dimension of medical coping modes;furthermore, age, education level and length of hospital stay are influcing factors for avoidance dimension.3.In this study,we built three struction equation modes for different dimensions of medical coping modes, all of them showed good fit index.
