Objective: To evaluate the expression of IL-17 and IL-21 in peripheral blood of patients with Graves ophthalmopathy(GO)and explore the correlation between cytokine levels and thyroid function in patients. Methods: To select 50 cases of newly diagnosed GOand 50 cases of healthy subjects as control group. The levels of IL-17,IL-21 and thyroid function were detected in the peripheral blood of the two groups.independent sample t test and correlation analysis were used. Results: The concentration of IL-17(1546.52±806.87pg/ml)and IL-21(884.30±444.37 pg/ml)in the peripheral blood of GO were significantly higher than the IL-17(770.82±437.03)and IL-21522.38±261.15pg/ml in controls(p<0.05),.The levels of IL-17 significantly correlated with TT3(correlation coefficient =0.459,p=0.012),and the levels of IL-21 significantly correlated with TT3,TT4(correlation coefficient=0.492,0.372,p=0.007,0.047).Conclusions: The concentration of IL-17,IL-21 increased and correlated with TT3 in GO,IL-17 and IL-21 may be associated with the occurrence and development of GO.
