Objective 1.To observe the incidence and the clinical aspects of post stroke depression.2.To compare the difference of clinical information, laboratory examination and imageological examination between depression and non-depression after stroke.3.To utilize logistic regression analysis to learn more about the correlated risk factors of post stroke depression. Methods A prospective observational study carried out among selected acute stroke survivors within 7 days in our hospital.97 cases of patients were from the Neurology Department of Ningxia medical university affiliated hospital during April 2016 to September2016.The necessary data was obtained from each subject, including socio-demographic,medical history, blood biochemical and craniocerebral imaging.Depressive symptoms were assessed in 12 days~14 days after the onset of stroke.According to Nine-item Patient Health Questionnaire scale(PHQ-9),patients were divided into two groups: depression group and non-depression group. We utilize NIHSS(National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale),MMSE(Mine-mental state examination)and ADL(Activities of daily living)rating scales to evaluate all patients,to compare the difference of clinical information, laboratory examination and imageological examination between two groups. Results 1.The general information: we have investigated 97 patients' cases of acute stroke with 31.96%(31/97)depression prevalence, male and female cases(15 VS 16);including 29 cases at sight level;including 2 cases at moderate level;66 cases have no depression. We discovered no obviously significant difference in age, marital status, the degree of education, professional, overweight and obesity, body mass index, living conditions, economic income, health care classifaction, living alone, blood type, medical history, smoking, alcohol consumption, allergy, lipid level, blood glucose level between the depression group and non depression group(p>0.05).The incidence of Hui nationality is higher than the Han nationality(35.71% VS 31.33%),statistics found no difference(p=0.987 >0.05).A total of 16 female cases of PSD group, the incidence is 44.44%(16/36),15 cases of men,the incidence is 24.59%(15/61).We discovered statistical difference in female patients were closely related to PSD(p=0.043<0.05).The incidence of two more complications were higher than one complications, statistic found difference between two groups(p=0.003<0.05).2.From the position of stroke, the incidence of many stroke were higher than the first stroke, but had no statistical meaning(47.37% VS 28.21%,p=0.108>0.05).We found that the incidence of PSD were not related with the nature of stroke(p=0.369),the amount of lesion location(p=0.657),the focal infarction area(p=1.000),the frontal lobes(p=0.581),the parietal lobes(p=0.743),the temporal lobes(p=1.000),occipital lobes(p=0.455),the thalamus(p=1.000),basal ganglia region(p=0.546),the lateral ventricle(p=0.735),and the cerebellum(p=1.000).The left hemisphere was closely related to PSD(X2=5.659,p=0.017<0.05).3.Depression subjects were evaluated within 12 days~14days by NIHSS obviously have higher scores than non-depression.Depression subjects were evaluated by MMSE and ADL have obviously lower scores than non-depression.4.Logistic regression analysis showed that the amount of complications and NIHSS scores are closely related to PSD.Conclusions 1.The incidence of PSD within 2 weeks is 31.96%,mainly include mild depression, should cause the attention of clinicians.2.Female patients, the more complications and the left hemisphere lesion are more likely to be developed into PSD.3.The serious neurological function is more likely to be developed into PSD.4.The amount of complications and NIHSS scores probably are the independent risk factors of PSD.
