Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Insomnia With Fo Shou Yang Xin Decoction

Objective: This research evaluates the clinical efficacy and safety of Fo Shou Yang Xin Decoction for the treatment of insomnia through clinical observation,so that it could provide an objective basis in both theoretically and practically.Methods: Eighty insomnia cases diagnosed by doctors in Department of Encephalopathy,Gansu Province Chinese Medicine Hospital,from Jan 2016 to Nov 2016.Patients were divided into experimental group(n=40)and control group(n=40).The experimental group took Fo Shou Yang Xin Decoction,meanwhile,the control group took Bai Le Mian(BLN).Prognosis,safety and prospective efficacy of two groups after 28-day therapeutic courses were evaluated by using traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptoms of measurement,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale(PSQI),Insomnia Severity Index scale(ISI).Meanwhile,routine blood,urine,liver,heart,renal,digestive system function,and adverse drug reaction in FSYXD and BLM treatment were regarded as safely assessing index.Results: 3 patients quitted therapy.77 patients accepted this clinical trial(experimental group(n=39)and control group(n=38).First,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale(PSQI)in experimental group was obviously better(P<0.05)than that of control group.Second,TCM symptoms of measurement showed the efficiency rate in observation group was 92.31%,higher than that of 73.68% in control group(P<0.05).Thirdly,compared with previous treatment,experimental group was much better(P<0.05)in ISI.Last assessment was safety.Compared with previous treatment,there was no obvious discrepancy in routine blood,urine,liver,heart,renal,digestive system function,and adverse drug reaction.Therefore,FSYXD was safe.Conclusion: The FSYXD therapy was effective on patients who suffered insomnia.It showed stable prospective efficacy without noxious side effects.The FSYXD could improve sleep quality and alleviate insomnia.It was valuable to promote in clinic.
