Objective:This study aims to assess the clinical effect and security of extracorporeal shock wave therapy combined with massage in the treatment of soft tissue injuries in the waist and hips by clinical randomized control. In order to find a noninvasive, effective and safe treatment method for the patients with soft tissue injuries in the waist and hips, and hope to promote it in clinical practice.Methods:40 patients that met the criteria were divided into treatment group and control group,20 patients respectively.Massage was operated on all the patients in two groups as basal treatment. The treatment group was assigned to receive shock wave,10-20 minutes one time, each interval 5 days and a total of 6 times in four weeks;the control group was received computer intermediate frequency,20 minutes one time, each interval 1day and 3 times a week and a total of 12 times in four weeks;both groups were treated with local tenderness points and muscle bandages. The scores of the emotional class, sensory class, visual analogue grading(VAS),and the current pain status(PPI)four indicators in the McGill pain questionnaire to assess the patient’s condition changes, which observed at five time points before treatment, after the first treatment,at the first week, the second week and the fourth week.In the course of treatment to observe whether patients have adverse reactions, such as skin ecchymosis, subcutaneous hematoma, palpitations and so on.After collecting the data, using SPSS22.0 statistical software for statistical analysis. The data were measured by t test. The counting data were analyzed by chi-square test or rank sum test.P <0.05 for the difference was statistically significant.Results:1.The study included in forty patients, and no one was removed or removed during the treatment. There was no significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in the general information(gender, age, course of the disease),and the scores of the emotional class, sensory class, visual analogue grading(VAS),the current pain status(PPI)four indicators in the McGill pain questionnaire(P>0.05)before the treatment. It was comparable.2.The total effect of two groups was both improved. And there was significant difference between two groups(P<0.05).The treatment group had a total in effective rate of 100% and better than the control group which effective rate was 90%.3.Compared with the pre-treatment scores, the scores of emotional class, sensory class,VAS and PPI in the McGill pain questionnaire were decreased and statistically significant(P<0.05)after 4 weeks of treatment, indicating that both groups were effective after the treatment.4.After the first treatment, the scores of the sensory class,VAS and PPI in the two groups were significant difference(P<0.05),but the scores of emotional class were not statistically significant.5.After the first week of treatment, the difference between two groups in the improvement of the scores of sensory class,VAS was significant(P<0.05),the treatment group was better than the control group;the other indicators showed no significant difference.6.After 2 weeks of treatment, the treatment group was better than the control group(P <0.05)in the emotional class, sensory class,VAS,but the scores of the PPI were not statistically different.7.After 4 weeks of treatment, the scores of emotional class, sensory class,VAS and PPI in the two groups were statistically significant(P <0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group.8.During the course of treatment,2 patients in the treatment group 2 days after the first treatment, the treatment area appeared edema, without other discomfort. The symptom disappeared after ice compress and appropriate recuperation in 2-3 days, that did not affect the rest of treatment, and the remaining patients during treatment were no significant adverse reactions.Conclusions:1.Extracorporeal shock wave therapy(ESWT)combined with massage can effectively treat soft tissue injuries of the waist and hips.2.Compared with the computer intermediate frequency therapy, extracorporeal shock wave therapy has better immediate and short term curative effect, and it costs less time.3.According to this randomized clinical study,ESWT combined with massage therapy can significantly relieve the pain of soft tissue injuries of the waist and hips.It is an effective treatment and is worth spreading and applying. |
