| Objectives The Primary goal of this research is to understand the trust of patient caregivers in physicians and analyze its relative influence factors,with the aim of providing scientific basis for health administration departments and some medicial institutions to enhance doctor-patient trust,improve doctor-patient relationship and reduce the occurrence of medical disputes.Methods 1 3960 impatient caregivers from 4 first-class comprehensive hospitals in Tangshang from Janurary 2016 to December 2016 were randomly sampled.The status quo of patient caregivers’ trust in physicians are investigated using Chinese revised version of Wake Forest Physician Trust Scale(WFPTS).Patient caregivers’ general data include their residence,gender,age,educational status,marriage,occupation and health information literacy.Patients’ own conditions include disease diagnosis,conditions and medical insurance.Family conditions of the caregivers include economic states and family function.Social factors of patient caregivers include experience in medical disputes,medical news authenticity receptivity,health insurance policy receptivity,medical service satisfaction,life satisfaction,ethics and values.All data were organzied by Excel software and single factor analysis and binary logistic regression analysis performed by SPSS17.0 were used to explore the factors influencing the caregivers’ trust in physicians.Results 1 The total score of patient caregivers’ trust in physicians was(37.18±8.12);The total score of kindly dimension was(18.88±4.24)and the total score of technical ability dimension was(18.30±4.271).In general,there exists higher level of trust.2 Single factor analysis influencing patient caregivers’ trust in physicians showed that(1)As to patient caregives’ own conditions: compared with those living in urban areas,caregivers living in the county and rural areas had higher trust in physicians;Compared with those with lower health information literacty,caregivers with higher health information literacy had higher trust in physicians.The difference is statistically significant(χ2 were 8.909 and 99.781 respectively,P<0.05);while the differences of gender,age,education status,marriage,occupation is not statiscally significant.(2)As to impatients’ own factors: Compared with those caring impatients with acute diseases,lighter diseases and no medical insurance,caregivers caring impatients with chronic diseases,heavier diseases and with medical insurance had higher trust in physicians.The difference is statistically significant(χ2 were 23.478,6.898 and 7.675 respectively,P<0.05).(3)As to family factors of patient caregivers: Compared with those with worse economic status and bad family function,caregivers with better economic status andbetter family function had higher trust in physicians.The difference is statistically significant(χ2 were 4.689 and 11.094 respectively,P<0.05).(4)As to social factors of patient caregivers: caregivers with no history in medical disputes,with medium or higher medical news authenticity receptivity,with higher medical service satisfaction,with higher medical insurance policy receptivity,with higher ethics and values had higher trust in physicians,and with higher life satisfaction had higher trust in physicians had higher trust in physicians(χ2 were 19.922,10.118,80.482,73.011,32.274,and 39.7,respectively,P<0.05).3 Multi-factor analysis of the influence on caregivers’ trust in physicians: binary logistic regression analysis displayed that residence,family function,disease types,health information literacy,medical disputes experience,medical news authentity receptivity,medical service satisfaction,medicial insurance policy receptivity,ethics and values,life satisfaction are significant influence factors of patient caregivers’ trust in physicians(OR values were 1.154,1.164,1.431,1.371,0.649,1.275,1.613,1.399,1.323 and 1.224 respectively,P<0.05).Conclusions 1 Patient caregivers’ trust in physician is in higher level.2 Patient caregivers’ experiences in medical disputes are the risk factors influencing their trust in physicians.medical service satisfaction,disease diagnosis,medical insurance policy receptivity,health information literacy,ethics and values,medical news authenticity receptivity,life satisfaction of patient caregivers,family function,Residence,dispute experience are the protective factors influencing their trust in physicians. |
