Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of JieDuXiaoYongFa and the variation of relevant indicators compared to conventional Western medicine for the treatment of ulcerative colitis,in the expectation to develop a new therapeutic approach for ulcerative colitis.Methods: Study of randomized controlled trials on JieDuXiaoYongFa in the treatment of ulcerative colitis or semi randomized controlled trial to search the main Chinese computer professional retrieval database has published,in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria for the screening set in advance,and ultimately determine the qualified literature,to extract the general situation and the original literature data extraction and transformation,and evaluate the quality of the documents provided by Cochrane collaboration RevMan5.2 software analysis,evaluates the main indicators of clinical curative effect,curative effect and colonoscopy syndromes integral,and minor indexes such as DAI integral to research the best treatment outcome and adverse reactions and other aspects,make the forestplot to analyze.Results:The 23 studies included a total of 1884 patients,982 in the treatment group and 902 in the control group;the JADAD score indicated low quality of all the included articles;statistical analyses showed that compared to conventional Western medicine,JieDuXiaoYongFa could improve the overall response rate,the best outcome and the enteroscopic colonic mucosa condition,and reduce the recurrence rate,for the treatment of ulcerative colitis.Conclusion:JieDuXiaoYongFa is superior over conventional Western medicine for the treatment of ulcerative colitis in that it could improve the clinical efficacy and enteroscopic colonic mucosa condition,and reduce the recurrence rate and adverse reactions;however due to the limited quality of the included articles,which is likely to result in publication bias,it is necessary to confirm these findings in large-sample,multi-center,high-quality clinical trials,in an effort to provide further theoretical and clinical support for TCM treatment of ulcerative colitis.
