Clinical Study On The Adjuvant Therapy For Acute Appendicitis By External Application Of Daqing Ointment

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Daqing ointment on acute appendicitisand explore the mechanism under it.Methods: We performed retrospective analyses on the patients with acute appendicitis.The patients were treated by non-surgical therapy in the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2015 to December 2016.The amount of the patients involved in this study was 60,half of them were treated of Daqing ointment.Patients were divided into treatment group and control group depending on whether they were treated with Daqing ointment or not.The patients in the treatment group received external application of Daqing ointment combined with western medicine treatment,and the patients in the control group only received western medicine treatment.Many changes are observed,including symptoms,sign,abdominal pain relief,body temperature,leucocyte count,neutrophil percentage,C-reactive protein and so on.Records of abdominal pain relief time and body temperature returned to normal time of two group patients.Besides,we quantified the two group patients' relevant data collected on thefirstday,third day,seventh day of the treatment and transform it into clinical symptom score for statistical analysis.Results: 1.Abdominal pain relief time and body temperature returned to normal time of the treatment group was significantly shorter than that of the control group,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.On the third day post treatment,patients in the treatment group is significantly better than the patients in the control group on the leucocyte count,neutrophil percentage,C-reactive protein The data difference between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Clinical symptom scores on the patients both in the treatment group and the control group are improved after treatment.Clinical symptom score of the treatment group is lower than the control group treatment on thefirst,third and seventhday.The difference of the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.After 7 days of treatment,the cure rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group.The difference of the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.External application of Daqing ointment in the treatment of patients with acute appendicitis can alleviate the clinical symptoms effectively with a shorter time for recovery.The curative effect of Daqiong ointment is better than that of simple western medicine.2.External application of Daqing ointment can significantly reduce the patients' inflammatory reaction compared to conventional western medicine treatment.3.External application of Daqing ointment improves the clinical effect of non-surgical treatment on acute appendicitis.
