Objectives:This study aims translation English version of MMAS-8 into Chinese and evaluates the reliability and validity of it in patients with type 2 diabetes. Moreover,to explore the influence of different factors on the patients medication complication and provides the theoretical basis for diabetes treatment and education. Methods:We translate English version of MMAS-8 into Chinese and use the Chinese version of MMAS-8 and MMAS-4 to survey 148 type 2 diabetes patients who were treated in the first affiliated hospital of kunming medical university. We collect the patient's demographic and clinical date, such as gender, age, course, professional, the type of health care, education, height, weight, duration, complications, treatment plan and HbAlc.About 20%patients are randomly selected to finish retest of the Chinese version of MMAS-8 through call visits 2 weeks later. We use the IBM SPSS 23(2)software to investigate the reliability and validity of the scale and explore the influence of different factors on medication adherence.Results:(1)We completed the translation of Chinese version of MMAS-8 and applied to 148 patients with type 2 diabetes(male 69,female 79),within 30 patients completed the test-retest portion.(2)The score of MMAS-8 of 148 patients with type 2 diabetes was 6.31± 1.88,and the low, medium and high adherence groups were 42(28.38%),56(37.84%)and 50(33.78%).(3)The reliability test of Chinese version of MMAS-8 showed that Cronbach's alpha test was 0.776,the ICC was 0.854(P<0.05).The construct validity test showed that:the factor analysis extracted three common factors, which explained 67.28%of the total variance, each item in the main factor of factor load were more than 0.5.The convergent validity test:the correlation coefficient between Chinese version of MMAS-8 and MMAS-4 was 0.878(P<0.001).The discrimination validity:Chinese version of MMAS-8 scores of good glycemic control group(HbA1c<7%)was higher than poor glycemic control group(HbA1c?7%)[(7.20±1.039)&(5.94±2.027),Z=-3.849,P=0.00],which the difference had statistically significant.Comparing two groups in different compliance distribution had statistical significance(?2?14.554,P=0.01).(4)Single factor and multiple factors analysis were applied of the relationship between influencing factors and medication adherence. The single factor orderly classification logistic regression analysis showed that gender(wald?2=7.046,P=0.008),hypoglycemic therapy(wald?1=6.158,P=0.013)had statistically significance influence on medication adherence. The multiple factors orderly classification of logistic regression analysis showed that gender, healthy care, hypoglycemic therapy had statistical significance influence on medication adherence.Men compared to women[OR=0.405,95%CI(0.197,0.829)],medical insurance for urban workers compared to self-paying[OR=0.130,95%CI(0.021,0.800)]and monotheraphy compared to multi-drug treatment[OR=2.970,95%CI(1.499,5.882)]were poor on medication adherence.Conclusions:(1)The Chinese version of MMAS-8 with good reliability and validity.(2)Chinese version of MMAS-8 can be applied for patients with type 2 diabetes, applied for evaluating the patient's medication adherence and guide the clinical work.(3)The medication compliance of type 2 diabetes was poor relatively.(4)The medication adherence of type 2 diabetes was connected with gender, the type of medical insurance and the complexity of the hypoglycemic therapy.
