Objective(s):To describe temporal profiles of serum matrix metalloproteinase-7(MMP-7)and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1),and their relationship with ultrasound cardiogram(UCG)parameters of left ventricular(LV)function and remodeling,in a STEMI population undergoing PCI.Methods:1.A total of 38 STEMI hospitalized patients undergoing primary PCI(pPCI)in the period from March 2015 to March 2017 at the first Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were included.Blood samples were collected at baseline before PCI and at intervals(0-24h,24-48h,48-72h)for later analysis of MMP-7,TIMP-1 by liquid chip(xMAP).2.LVEF?LVESV?LVEDV were measured by ultrasound cardiogram(UCG)in the 38 included STEMI patients before discharge. Then investigate the relationship between these parameters with serum levels of MMP-7 and TIMP-1 during the STEMI course.Results:1.The serum levels of MMP-7 were 9.64±6.09ng/ml at baseline, then decreased to the trough(8.81 ±3.35ng/ml)at 48h,and then increased to the peak(10.23±7.71 ng/ml)at 72h,but there was no statistically significant difference in all time periods.2.The serum levels of TIMP-1 reached the trough(116.95±56.11 ng/ml)at baseline and then increased to(135.18±59.57ng/ml)at 48h,then increased to(128.29±41.93ng/ml)at 72h,but there was no statistically significant difference in all time periods.3.The ratio of MMP-7/TIMP-1 reached the peak at baseline, then decreased to the trough at 48h gradually, then increased at 72h.It is speculated that the imbalance of MMP-7/TIMP-1 may be involved in the formation of acute myocardial infarction and ventricular remodeling after myocardial infarction, but there was no statistically significant difference in all time periods.4.There was no significant correlation between the serum levels of MMP-7,TIMP-1 and LVEF,LVEDV,LVESV during the course of STEMI.5.There was no significant correlation between the serum levels of MMP-7,TIMP-1 and troponin I during the course of STEMI.6.There was no significant correlation between the serum levels of MMP-7,TIMP-1 and GRACE risk score,SYNTEX risk score during the course of STEMI.7.There was no significant correlation between the serum levels of MMP-7,TIMP-1 and triglyceride, total cholesterol,HDL,LDL during the course of STEMI.8.There was no significant correlation between the serum levels of MMP-7,TIMP-1 and platelet counts during the course of STEMI.Conclusion(s):1.The serum levels of MMP-7 decreased at 0?48h,then increased at 48?72h;and the serum levels of TIMP-1 increased at 0?48h;then decreased 48?72h;the ratio of MMP-7/TIMP-1 decreased at 0?48 h,then increased at 48-72h.While there.was no statistically significant during the STEMI course(0?72h).2.There was no significant correlation between serum levels of MMP-7,TIMP-1 and LVEF,LVEDV,LVESV in short time(0?72h)during the course of STEMI.It was presumed that the imbalance of MMP-7/TIMP-1 cannot cause changes in left ventricular structure and function, and even ventricular remodeling during the course of STEMI(0-72h).
