Objective:Inguinal hernia is a kind of common and frequently-occurring disease in gastrointestinal surgery.Lichtenstein inguinal hernia repair is a kind of common surgical procedure for the treatment of inguinal hernia. In this paper,we compare local anaesthesia with spinal anaesthesia in the application of the adult inguinal Lichtenstein operation's curative effect from the point of view of evidence-based medicine, which can provide evidence for the selection of anesthesia. Methods:Clinical randomized controlled trials(RCTs)published and compared local anaesthesia with spinal anaesthesia in the application of the adult inguinal Lichtenstein operation's curative effect are collected. This literature research searched for literature using the search strategy and screened literature according to inclusion and excluding criteria. After data extraction and quality assessments,Metaanalysis was conducted by the Review Manager 5.3 software. Results:There are ten English literature meeting the inclusion criteria for the meta-analysis.The totle sample size of these studies are 1240 cases, including local anesthesia surgery group 615 cases, and spinal anesthesia group of 625 people.Meta-analysis results show that the local anesthesia's incidence of urinary retention and early pain levels after inguinal hernia Lichtenstein are lower than that of spinal anesthesia group, and anesthesia satisfaction higher than that of spinal anesthesia. The operation duration are longer than group of spinal anesthesia.P<0.05;However,the incidence of wound infections and hematoma are not statistically significant difference,P >0.05.Conclusion:In adult Lichtenstein inguinal hernia surgery,Urine retention, postoperative pain, and anesthesia satisfaction with local anesthesia are superior to spinal anesthesia, anddoes not increase postoperative wound infection and postoperative wound hematoma. But the operation duration are longer than group of spinal anesthesia.
