Objective:To investigate the changes of retinal morphological structure and its association with AD in patients with Alzheimer's disease(AD).Methods:(2015 / 01-2016 / 01)in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang,Department of Neurology,Department of Geriatrics, clinical diagnosis of patients with mild and / or moderate dementia,Forty eyes(20 eyes in the left eye and 20 eyes in the right eye)were enrolled in the study group(20 males(male / female: 11/9;aged 58-90 years,mean(72.75 ± 8.25)years)(Male / female: 11/9;aged 61-84 years,mean(71.05 ± 7.08)years old)40 eyes(20 eyes left, right eye 20)were enrolled in the Department of Neurology and / or Ophthalmology,As the normal age matched control group. All the participants received neurological strict hematology, neuroimaging and psychiatric examination to assist in the diagnosis.Ophthalmic examination was performed to measure corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure, dilatation examination, and optical coherence tomography(OCT).The mean retinal nerve fiber layer(RNFL)thickness and the upper, lower, nasal and temporal retinal Nerve fiber layer(RNFL)thickness as the research content, analysis and comparison between the same group of left and right eyes and between the experimental group and the normal control group differences. The results of the application of SPSS17.0 software for statistical analysis of parallel statistical analysis to P <0.05 represents a statistically significant.Result:1.Compared with the control group(101.70±9.57?m),the average thickness of RNFL in the optic disc circumference area of AD patients(81.60±12.92?m)was significantly thinner than that of the control group(P<0.05),especially in the superior(87.35±12.36?m)?inferior(90.23±12.40?m)retina of the optic disc, the thickness of the nasal temporal position in the quadrant area was lower than that in the control group No statistically significant.2.the two groups within the group, between the left and right eyes RNFL thickness are not different.Conclusion:1,AD patients with optic disc retinal nerve fiber layer thickness than normal peers thinning;2,AD patients with retinal nerve fiber thinning first appeared in the disc around the upper and lower quadrant;3.OCT can be used as an effective and noninvasive method for assessing early changes in AD retinal nerve fibers.
