Clinical Observation Of Treating Cervical Vertigo By Acupuncture At The Neck Three Points

Objective The therapeutic effect on cervical vertigo with acupuncting the neck three points was evaluated by clinical investigation.It was also attempted to explore the preliminary mechanism of this therapeutic effect.Methods In the clinical investigation,the diagnosis,syndrome differentiation of disease and evaluation of therapeutic effects were adopted.90 cases of patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected for comparison,then treatment group,conventional acupuncture group and western medicine group were respectively selected for 30 cases of each group.Treatment group was treated by acupuncture at the "neck three points ",namely Fengchi,Tianzhu,Tianyou;conventional acupuncture group was treated by acupuncture at neck pinch point,dazhui,tianzhu;western medicine group was treated with betahistine(mesylate)and flunarizine hydrochloride capsules(flunarizine).Vertebral basilar artery blood flow velocity,scale score of twist disease clinical syndrome evaluation and the whole curative effect of the patient was observed.Results 1.patients in the three groups had no difference in sex,age and course of disease,so the result was comparable.Comparison of artery blood flow velocity in the vertebral basement:three groups all could improve artery blood flow velocity in the vertebral basement,and there was a significant difference before and after the treatment(P<0.01).It could be seen from the comparison of blood flow velocity among the three groups that,the curative effect on improving blood flow velocity of treatment group and conventional acupuncture group was better than western medicine group;and the treatment group could best improve blood flow velocity among the three groups.2.Evaluation scale score comparison of twist disease clinical symptom:symptom score was improved for the three groups after treatment compared with before the treatment.Treatment group had significant difference compared with the conventional acupuncture group(P<0.01),indicating that treatment group could more obviously improve the symptom.3.Comparison of the whole curative effect:Treatment group always had efficiency of 96.7%;Conventional acupuncture group always had efficiency of 93.3%;Western medicine group always had efficiency of 86.7%.Healing rate of the treatment group were all better than those of conventional acupuncture group and western medicine group.Conclusion The treatment group could more effectively improve blood flow velocity and increase blood flow than the western medicine group and the conventional acupuncture group.Moreover,it was more significant for treatment group to improve symptom related with vertigo.lt was found in this study that acupuncture for the three points in the neck was safe and effective for treating cervical vertigo.
