Objective:To investigate the incidence of restless legs syndrome(RLS)and related risk factors in maintenance hemodialysis patients in Nanchong Central Hospital, and evaluate the effect of RLS on quality of life, depression and anxiety in hemodialysis patients. Methods:In this study,we conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate the data of 115 patients with maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)from July to November 2015 in Nanchong Central Hospital, including general information, clinical data and related laboratory Check the data and so on.Patients were divided into RLS positive group and RLS negative group according to RLS diagnostic criteria, univariate and multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the risk factors of RLS in hemodialysis patients. To compare the differences in quality of life, depression score and anxiety score between the two groups, and understand the effect of RLS on quality of life and psychology of hemodialysis patients. Results: In our study of 115 MHD patients(51 males and 64 females),24(20.87%)were diagnosed with RLS.According to univariate analysis, patients with RLS had higher duration of dialysis therapy(P<0.05)? transferrin(P<0.05)??2microglobulin(P <0.001)?homocysteine(P <0.001)and lower urine volume compared to those without;and the history of female drinking is related to RLS(P<0.05).No significant difference in gender, age, body massindex(BMI),primary disease, history of hypertension, history of diabetes, hemoglobin, serum iron, transferrin saturation, creatinine, urea nitrogen,PTH,electrolyte was found between the two groups.Logistic regression analysis showed that ? 2 microglobulin increased(OR : 1.48,[95 %CI,1.054-2.077])?high vitamin B12(OR:1.006,[95%CI,1.001-1.012])?high homocysteine(OR:1.595,[95%CI,1.029-2.474])was risk factor for RLS.The self-Rating anxiety scale(SAS)score(P = 0.012)and the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)score(P = 0.019)were higher than those of the non-RLS group.Patients with RLS positive group had significantly lower mental health score than negative group(P=0.016),but no difference in energy and physical health score.RLS severity was significantly associated with SDS scores(P<0.001).Conclusions: The prevalence of RLS was 20.87% in the maintenance hemodialysis patients in Nanchong Central Hospital.High?2microglobulin?high vitamin B12 ? high homocysteine was risk factor of RLS.RLS has a serious impact on the mental health of hemodialysis patients and leads to a greater degree of depression and anxiety than non-RLS patients.
