Objective:To investigate and measure anterior mandibular jaw bone of Uygur adults in Xinjiang for clinical application using cone beam computed tomography,CBCT.Methods:Eighty Xinjiang Uygur adults were selected in this study between May.2014 and May 2015 who shooting CBCT in the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang medical university oral radiology department. All CBCTs of the 80 adults were recondtructed to evaluate and mersure the shape,bucca-lingual width and mesial and distal distance at alveolar crest of anterior region of mandible.Results:1.Buccal shape of anterior mandible of Uygur adults in Xinjiang was concave in all cases and the most concave point was located on the upper and middle one third of mandible mostly.Shape of lingual was diversified, and those of convex account for a high percentage of canine,Flat shape proportion is higher of lateral incisor was next to canine and central incisor.2.For the bucca-lingual width, alveolar crest of anterior mandibular jaw bone had minimum distance, middle and apex of tooth was next to alveolar crest and lower margin had maximum distance;alveolar crest and apex of tooth of canine are different between Uygur males and females.3.Mesial and distal distance at alveolar crest of anteriror mandible were between 4.52mm~6.83 mm,canine had maximum distance, lateral incisor was next to canine and central incisor had minimum distance. Conclusion:No significant difference in Xinjiang Uygur adults and the Han nationality adults of mandibular labial and lingual jaw shape,bucca-lingual width and distance in numerical measurement? When implanting in mandibular anterior alveolar, especially in the case of single central incisor or lateral incisor missing, implant may not achieve enough space and adjacent teeth were easy to be affected.Care should be taken of the shape of mandible to avoid buccal and lingual penetration when doing implant surgery in anterior mandible.
