Clinical Observation Of Nuchal Region Electroacupuncture Combined With Scalp Acupuncture Therapy On Post Stroke Depression

Objective:Comparing the control group treated by nuchal region electroacupuncture combined with scalp acupuncture therapy and the control group with western medicine of Deanxit to comform the differences in efficacy of depressive mood and neurological deficits in patients with depression after stroke.Methods:Sixty-four patients with post stroke depression were randomly divided into two groups:the acupuncture group and the western medicine group(n=32).Both the two groups were treated by general treatment.Acupuncture group will also treat by the therapy of nuchal rigion electro-acupuncture combined with scalp acupuncture,taking the bilateral points,Feng Chi and Gong Xue,and connecting each side of the points with the wire,which the positive pole links the upper one and the negative pole links the following one,keeping the power on for 30 minutes.Choosing Baihui,Left Shen Cong,Right Shen Cong,Ben Shen,Left Shen Ting and Right Shen Ting for the scalp acupuncture,each of the points needs mild needling and tonification every fifteen minutes after getting the Qi.Removing all the needles after 30minutes.Carring out the treatment measures one times a day and six times a week,while the westen medicine group will add Deanxit as a supplement and use one of the oral drug every morning and every noon.The treatment duration of two groups was 4 weeks.The scores of CCS,HAMD,LSIA and QLI were evaluated before the treatment and in the end,SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical analysis.Results:1.There was no significant difference in sex,age,depression type and stroke type between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).2.The two groups after treatment had obvious difference with their own group before the treatment in the scores of CCS,HAMD,LSIA and QLI(P<0,05).3.There was no obvious difference between the two groups in the scores of HAMD,LSIA and the the efficacy of depression ater the treatment(P>0.05),but the difference of CCS,QLI and the efficacy of neurological deficit between the two groups was significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Nuchal rigion electroacupuncture combined with scalp acupuncture therapy has an equal potency to treat the depressive mood of post stroke depression contrast to Deanxit.2.Nuchal region electroacupuncture combined with scalp acupuncture therapy can still promote the recovery of neurological deficits in patients with post stroke depression and improve the quality of their life.
