Clinical Observation On Treating Paediatric Iron Deficiency Anaemia Using Buxue Zisheng Granules Plus Chalybeate

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of BuXue ZiSheng granule with chalybeate in the treatment of paediatric iron deficiency anaemia.Methods:72 children from 6 months to 3 years old with iron deficiency anaemia,who met inclusion criteria for the clinical trials,were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group(36 children)and control group(36 children).The subjects in the treatment group were treated with the BuXue ZiSheng granules with chalybeate,while those in the control group were only treated with chalybeate.Symptoms and signs,haemoglobin and recurrence rate of the children were observed before and after 2-month treatment.Results:1.26 children in the treatment group were fully cured,5 were markedly effective,and 3 were effective,which has a cure rate of 76.47%.In contrast,the control group has a 60.61%cure rate with 20 fully cured,2 markedly effective,and 11 effective children(P<0.05).2.The results of TCM syndrome examination showed that the symptoms and signs of both groups has improved with curative effect of treatment group better than the control group(P<0.05).There were 26cases of clinical recovery,6 of markedly effective,and 2 of effective in the treatment group compared with 21 of clinical recovery,2 of markedly effective and 10 of effective in the control group.Both groups had 100%of the total effective rate.3.The children in the treatment group showed higher improvement in haemoglobin content than the control group(P<0.05).The recurrence rate was 8.33%in the treatment group and 58.33%in the control group.The relapse rate in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.01).No adverse reaction occurred during the treatment.Conclusion:1.BuXue ZiSheng granule with chalybeate can effectively improve the haemoglobin content and the cure rate and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions compared with chalybeate only.2.BuXue ZiSheng granule with chalybeate is also able to improve the symptoms and signs of children with iron deficiency anaemia and reduce the recurrence rate.
