With the constant advancement of socialist modernization process, and continuous improvement of people’s living standards, issues of food and clothing are no longer their primary concern, and actually they are paying more and more attention to health issues such as medical treatment and public health. In the remote areas where they have less or even no access to medical treatment, health care has become a critical problem that ordinary people have to spend the biggest amount of money, and it needs to be solved urgently. However, with the current situation of medical resources distribution in our country being that high quality medical resources are concentrated in big hospitals in big cities, while medical resources of rural areas are very scarce,a dilemma shows up: hospital beds in big hospitals are insufficient while small hospitals has way too few patients. As for hospitals, the solutions to this problem include improving the professional level of medical staff medical actively, enhancing the level of their service and simplifying the treatment process.Only if small hospitals can keep local patients with lighter diseases can big hospitals carry out full play of their resource advantage to treat patients with severe diseases; And as for the government,it should play its role to make due policies and guide to use resources in a rational way,i.e.to optimize the allocation of medical resources,to actively implement graded diagnosis and treatment, and to reduce the medical cost of patients. It is clearly announced in the 12 th five-year plan that the construction of telemedicine information platform will be included in health information technology projects, and Ministry of Health will allocate a special fund to make a pilot construct ion of the Midwest telemedicine, meanwhile hospitals and local governments have established telemedicine systems respectively. The construction of the telemedicine system is in full development. With the rapid development of telemedicine treatment, feelings of the patients are nonetheless a huge concern,as the stand or fall of telemedicine services are in the hands of patients to decide, whereas patients’ involvement will directly affect the development of telemedicine service, thus affecting the telemedicine service innovation performance.Firstly, this thesis makes a literature review related to research results at home and abroad, and introduces the service innovation theory, organizational learning theory and the relevant concepts of knowledge management theory.Based on literature review, this thesis puts forward opinions of this research. As telemedicine is in the preliminary developing stage in China, scholars’ research is limited to qualitative analysis, while the quantitative study of telemedicine service innovation performance and patients participation in research of telemedicine service innovation are far too less. Therefore, this thesis puts forward the motives and means of patients who participate in telemedicine service innovation and the outcomes of their involvement, which lay a theoretical foundation for the analysis of patients participating in the innovation mechanism of telemedicine services.Secondly, this thesis makes a theoretical analysis of the mechanism of how patients participate in telemedicine service innovation, and defines the telemedicine service innovation mode as four dimensions, namely the new service concept, the new customer interface, the new service delivery system, and technology;this thesis also makes an analysis of patients’ motives to participate from perspectives of their cognitive needs, personal demand, social integration needs, emotional needs and interests etc.,and makes a theoretical analysis of all the possibilities that patients might intend to participate;and then this thesis categorized patients means to participate into three categories, namely information supply, cooperative production and interpersonal interaction;at last, this thesis analyzes the theories of the knowledge sharing, organizational learning intermediary mechanism in patients who participate in telemedicine service innovation, which altogether build a theoretical model for the following thesis and lay a solid foundation to put forward the hypothesis of the research. Finally, this thesis builds a structural equation model of patients’ involvement in telemedicine service innovation performance and puts forward the research hypothesis, obtains valid data through empirical research methods and makes an empirical test of the models and assumptions. The results shows that the knowledge sharing mode plays an intermediary role between the patients’ participation and telemedicine service innovation performance, while organizational learning mode also plays a similar role between patients’ participation and knowledge sharing, thusrevealing the influence mechanism of patients involvement on telemedicine service innovation performance and its mechanism of action. This research verifies the intermediary role of patients through ways of organizational learning and knowledge sharing to influences the performance of telemedicine service innovation path and mechanism of action, and add explanation to the existing research on telemedicine service innovation.
