Objective:The research adopted the "calming the liver and suppressing yang" acupuncture therapy on vascular headache of liver yang hyperactivity,in order to observe the clinical effects of "calming the liver and suppressing yang" acupuncture therapy.Methods:The 60 patients,suffering from vascular headache of liver yang hyperactivity,who met inclusion criteria were randomly devided into 2 groups,namely,the treatment group and control group.The former were received "calming the liver and suppressing yang" acupuncture therapy,lasting 50 minutes per time and once a day.The control group were treated with routine acupuncture.Both groups had been treated for 3 weeks.Comparing the two groups before and after treatment in headache scores,TCM syndrome score to evaluate clinical effect of "calming the liver and suppressing yang" acupuncture therapy.Results:1.The comparison of headache score before and after treatment showed in 2 groups.Before treatment,comparing headache scores of two groups,P>0.05,they are comparable.And comparing headache scores after treatment,in each group,it showed both teams achieved evident clinic efficacy(P<0.01).Comparing headache scores of 2 groups after treatment,it showed "calming the liver and suppressing yang" acupuncture therapy is superior to the routine acupuncture(P<0.05).2.The comparison of scores of the degree of pain,frequency of headache,the duration and accompanying symptoms before and after treatment.Before treatment,comparing two groups,P>0.05,they are comparable.After treatment,the scores of both groups significantly decreased(P<0.01).Through comparison of two groups,it was clear to see that treatment group was obviously superior to the control group in concomitant symptom and the degree of vascular headache(P<0.05).Nevertheless,there was no obvious difference in duration and degree of pain between two groups(P>0.05)3.The comparison of therapeutic effect of TCM syndrome in 2 groups.Comparing the total clinical effective rate between the treatment group and the control group,P<0.05,it pointed ou there is a obvious defference between the two group.Conclusion:1.The research adopted the"calming the liver and suppressing yang"acupuncture therapy on vascular headache of liver yang hyperactivity,and it showed acupuncture therapy significantly alleviated patients’ clinical symptoms.2.The group which were treated with "calming the liver and suppressing yang" acupuncture therapy is superior to the routine acupuncture in concomitant symptom and the degree of headache.
