Relationship Between Pulse Wave Velocity And High Homocysteine In Elderly Hypertensive Patients

Objective:To investigate the relationship between PWV and Hcy in elderly hypertensive patients,so as to provide effective monitoring indicators for early identification of arteriosclerotic diseases in elderly hypertensive patients and provide new strategies for early prevention and treatment of the disease.Methods:86 cases of elderly hypertensive patients aged over 60 years were selected from the department of geriatrics the first affiliated hospital of bengbu medical college.All patients were meet the hypertension diagnostic criteria for the Chinese Hypertension Prevention Guide(2010 revision)and received routine antihypertensive therapy.The average blood pressure was less than 140/90 mmHg after treatment,severe liver renal insufficiency patients were excluded.According to the level of blood Hcy,86 patients were divided into two groups: normal group 46 cases with blood Hcy?15?mol/L;another group 40 cases with blood Hcy>15?mol/L.In each group,we measured(BMI),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),creatinine(Cr),fasting blood glucose(FBG),serum creatinine Glycosylated hemoglobin(HBA1c),homocysteine(Hcy),systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),pulse wave velocity(PWV)and so on.Results:1.There was no significant difference in sex composition and complication between the two groups(p>0.05).2.The levels of BMI and creatinine in the homocysteine group were significantly higher than those in the normal group(p<0.05).There were no significant difference in age,ALT,total cholesterol,triglyceride,fasting blood glucose,glycosylatedhemoglobin,systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure between the two groups(p> 0.05).3.The level of Hcy in the normal Hcy group and the high Hcy group were(11.73±2.28)?mol/L and(19.81±3.59)?mol/L respectively,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(p<0.05);the level of bapwv in the two groups were(1657.69±182.37)cm/s and(2013.43±248.91)cm/s respectively,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(p<0.05).4.Pearson correlation analysis showed that bapwv was positively correlated with Hcy,age,BMI,ALT,total cholesterol,triglyceride,creatinine,fasting blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin,SBP and DBP(p <0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that bapwv Risk factors were age,cholesterol,triglyceride,creatinine,Hcy,SBP,etc.(p<0.05).Conclusion:The increase in bapwv of elderly hypertensive patients is associated with hyperhomocysteinemia,and it is important to control hyperhomocysteinemia for the prognosis of elderly hypertensive patients.
