Objective: To study the characteristics of sleep structure in patients with VCI and the relationship between sleep structure and such patients. Methods: collected from January2015 to January 2017 in VCI patients in Department of neurology hospital of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, with 50 cases of inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled in the study,In addition,50 elderly patients with non cognitive impairment were selected as the control group. There were no significant differences in age, sex, education,BMI,history of hypertension, history of diabetes and history of smoking among the cognitive impairment group and the non cognitive disorder group(P>0.05).MMSE and CDR scores were statistically significant(P<0.05).The study group and the control group were performed polysomnography(10 p.m.to 6 a.m.next day,8 hours in total).Results:(1)compared with the control group,VCI group of patients with poor subjective sleep quality, daytime dysfunction,Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)score of VCI group and control group scores were 16.18±2.17 and9.02±1.20(P<0.05),Epworth sleepiness scores(ESS)were 10.66±2.00 and 6.54±1.63(P<0.05).(2)the sleep structure analysis:compared with the control group,VCI group of patients with total sleep time(TST),sleep efficiency(SE),sleep time 2(TS2),sleep time3-4(TS3-4),S3-4/TST(%),REM sleep time(TREMS),REM/TST(%)decreased(P<0.05).Sleep latency(SL),the number of awakening(AN),sleep wake time(WASO),sleep time 1(TS1),S1/TST(%)were increased(P<0.05).(3)according to the MMSE score and CDR score in group VCI patients were divided into VCIND,Mild cognitive impairment, moderate cognitive impairment in three groups, analysis of sleep structure between the three groups: compared with VCIND group, mild group and moderate group total sleeptime(TST),sleep efficiency(SE),sleep time 2(TS2),sleep time 3-4(TS3-4),S3-4/TST(%),REM sleep time(TREMS),REM/TST(%)decreased(P<0.05).Sleep latency(SL),the number of awakening(AN),sleep wake time(WASO),sleep time 1(TS1),S1/TST(%)were increased(P<0.05).(4)VCI patients with MMSE,correlation analysis between CDR score and sleep structure showed that the S1/TST(%)and MMSE score showed a negative correlation(P<0.05),S3-4/TST(%),REM/TST(%)and MMSE score was positively correlated(P<0.05).S1/TST(%)and CDR score were positively correlated(P<0.05),S3-4/ TST(%),REM/TST(%)and CDR score showed a negative correlation(P<0.05).Conclusion:VCI patients with sleep disorders and sleep structure disorders, the sleep structure disorders and the degree of cognitive impairment was significantly correlated.
