Objective: To have a further understanding of eosinophilic gastroenteritis(EGE),and to provide theoretical basis for better diagnosis and treatment of EGE,clinical features and therapeutic effect of hospitalized EGE cases were retrospectively analyzed in Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University in recent 10 years. Methods: The medical record retrieval system of Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University was used to find patients diagnosed EGE from January,2006 to November,2016 in our hospital.A total of 42 cases were got,and collected informations include: General materials, clinical manifestation, physical and chemical examination, endoscopic and pathologic biopsy examination, diagnosis, treatment and relapse time.SPSS22.0 statistical software was used. The levels of peripheral blood eosinophil of each subtype of EGE,were analyzed with K-W rank test, and the positive rate in various parts of endoscopic biopsy were analyzed with R×C contingency table chi-square test. The differences among treatment therapic effects were analyzed with K-W rank test for multiple independent samples. Results: 1.In 42 patients with EGE,male: female was 1:1.8,and the average age was46.21 ±15.74 years old.In the age distribution,a high incidence presented in 40-50 years old.24 cases have allergy history, accounting for 57%,and 10 cases were diagnosed allergic disease, accounting for 23.8%.Patient with mucous type of EGE were 37 cases(88%),with muscular type were 2 cases(5%),and with serous type were 3cases(7%),thus the mucous type is the most common.2.The most common clinical symptoms with abdominal pain, which was found in 38 cases(90.4%);while diarrhea was the second symptom which was found in(35.7%).3.Among the patients 36 cases had increasing AECs,accounting for 85.7%,and the range of which was(0.18-4.5)×109/L,and the average was(1.81±1.13)×109/L.In different subtypes of EGE: the AECs average in mucous type was(1.51±0.8)× 109/L,in Muscular type was(3.6±0.3)×109/L,and in Serous type was(4.35±0.14)×109/L.The distribution difference of blood AECs between Serous type and mucous type was statistically significant, and the AECs level of serous type is higher than that of mucous type.4.Comparisons of positive rate in various parts of endoscopic biopsy: positive rate in gastroscopy: duodenum > antrum > Gastric body.?2gastro=8.93,P = 0.011508<0.05.Positive rate in Colonoscopy: Terminal ileum > ileocecal region > rectum >Descending colon,?2colon=17.62,P= 0.000527<0.05.5.The differences or curative effect of 3 kinds of therapies: hormone therapy alone and combined hormone therapy were superior to symptomatic treatment, the difference was statistically significant. But,there was no significant statistically difference of curative effect between the Simple hormone therapy and combined hormone therapy.6.Petients of mucous type and muscular type patients might relapse more easily than that of serous type, and patients with symptomatic treatment more often than the other two groups. Conclusion: 1.For EGE,women are more susceptible than men,and the patient with allergic history and allergic diseases are susceptible population.2.The most common symptom in patients with EGE is abdominal pain, the nature of which is mainly cramps, the most common parts is upper abdomen.3.The AECs levels in the blood is generally higher in the EGE,which can be a diagnostic clues. The AECs level in Serous type is higher than Mucous type.Marrow cytology inspection can provide the basis for the differential diagnosis of EGE.4.Endoscopic examination and biopsy can make a definite diagnosis. But there are differences of the positive rate in various position of endoscopic biopsy,in which duodenum and ileum have higher positive rate than others.5.The curative effect with hormone alone or combined hormone is superior to symptomatic treatment.
