A Meta-analysis For The Efficacy Of Traditional Chinese And Flunarizine For The Treatment Of Migraine

ObjectiveTo systematically review the efficacy of Traditional Chinese and flunarizine for the treatment of migraineMethodWe electronically searched The Pub Med,Web of science,EBM-Library,CNKI,CBM,VIP and Wang Fang Data for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of Chinese medchine and flunarizine for the treatment of migraine.After literature election,the data extraction and quality assessment were conducted by wo reviewers independently,and then the meta-analysis was conducted for the total clinical efficacy rate,the TCM efficacy rate.the TCM(Traditional Chinese medicine)effect score,the recurrence rate,the number of headaches,the time of Headache,the degree of headache,the number of Plasma viscosity et al,using Revman 5.3 software.Results1904 related studies were primary included,however,just 25 studies were finally elected according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria.There were 1832 patients in our research,and 922 patients were in TCM groups,the rest of 910 patients were in routine Fluorogurizine hydrochloride therapy group.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the clinical efficacy rate were significantly improved when we used the TCM method.Heterogeneity inspection:(I2=4%,P=0.41>0.05),there is no statistical heterogeneity,to combine the effect of effect of the stochastic effect model[OR=3.50,95%CI(2.64,4.64),P<0.00001)].The difference was statistically significant between the two.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the the TCM effect rate were significantly increased when we used the TCM method.Heterogeneity inspection:(I2=0%,P>0.05),there is no statistical heterogeneity,to combine the effect of the fixed effect model[OR=4.56,95%CI(2.54,8.02),P<0.00001].The difference was statistically significant between the two.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the recurrence rate were significantly decreased when we used the TCM,heterogeneity inspection:(I2=12%,P>0.05),There is no statistical heterogeneity,to combine the effect of the fixed effect model[OR = 0.34,95%CI(017,0.67),P<0.00001],the difference was statistically significant between the two.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the degree of headache were significantly decreased when we used the TCM.(I2= 93%,P < 0.00001),there is a high statistical heterogeneity,to combine the effect of effect of the stochastic effect model[WMD=0.98,95% CI(-1.37,-0.59),P <0.05].the difference was statistically significant between the two;The results of Meta-analysis showed that the time of Headache was significantly decreased when we used the TCM.Heterogeneity inspection(I2= 87%,P<0.00001),there is a high statistical heterogeneity,to combine the effect of effect of the stochastic effect model[WMD = 1.66,95%(-2.61,-0.71),P<0.05],the difference was statistically significant between the two.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the number of Headache was significantly reduced when we used the TCM.Heterogeneity inspection:(I2= 90%,P<0.00001),there is a high statistical heterogeneity,to combine the effect of effect of the stochastic effect model [WMD = 0.96,95%CI(-1.25,-0.67),P < 0.00001],the difference was statistically significant between the two.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the effect score of TCM was significantly decreased when we used the TCM.Heterogeneity inspection(I2=83%,P<0.00001),there is a high statistical heterogeneity,to combine the effect of effect of the stochastic effect model [WMD = 3.45,95% CI(-4.65,-2.26),P < 0.00001] the difference was statistically significant between the two;The results of Meta-analysis showed that the number of Plasma viscosity was significantly reduced when we used the TCM Heterogeneity inspection:(I2= 99%,P < 0.00001),there is a high statistical heterogeneity,to combine the effect of effect of the stochastic effect model [WMD = 0.48,95% CI(0.85,0.10),P < 0.05],the difference was statistically significant between the two.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the adverse reactions was significantly reduced when we used the TCM:(I2 =11%,P>0.05),no statistical heterogeneity,amount of fixed effect model combined effect [OR= 0.43,95% CI(0.23,0.82),P<0.05] the difference was statistically significant between the twoConclusionComparing with the flunarizine therapy for the treatment of migraine,additional using the method of TCM can significantly improve the rate of clinical effect,improve the the TCM efficacy rate,improve the TCM score,besides,it can decrease patients' number of Plasma viscosity,also the time,number and degree of headaches,and so on.Most of all the adverse reactions was significantly reduced when we used the TCM,meaning that it maybe can be a choice for physicians...
