Objective:The purpose of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dialectical medication(traditional Chinese medicine or integrative Chinese and Western medicine)for the therapy of migraine. Methods:We searched relevant articles up to September 2017 in five different date-bases which were Wanfang Data-base,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)Data-base,Cqvip(VIP)Date-base,Sinomed Date-base and PubMed Date-base.Through the screening,we included 30 studies of randomized controlled trails(RCT).We applied Revman 5.3 software to do the statistic.Results:1.Compared with Western medicine, dialectical medication could signifi--cantly improve the total effective rate, clinical cure rate,long-term recurrence rate of migraine patients, and did not increase the incidence of adverse reaction2.Compared with Western medicine,TCM and integrity medicine based on dialectical principle could significantly improve the total effective rate, clinical cure rate,long-term recurrence rate of the migraine patients.Meanwhile,TCM and integrative medicine might have the similar efficacy in the therapy. But compared with integrative medicine,TCM could significantly improve the incidence of adverse reactions.3.Dialectical treatment drugs could better decrease the clinical symptom scores than western medicine group. And for the patients who had high symptom scores before therapy might achieve better curative effect. Conclusion:Dialectical medication has significant additional benefits and relativesafety in migraine therapy. However, the credibility of the conclusion has been reduced because of the limitation of experimental design, documents index and the quality of studies. So more rigorously designed RCT with large sample sizes are needed to confirm it.
