Objective:to observe the clinical effect of dachaihu decoction in treating syndrome of shaoyang and yangming meridians complicated with acute-stage ischemic stroke and to explore its underlying mechanism.Method: this study has included 60 cases of patient with syndrome of shaoyang and yangming meridians complicated with acute-stage ischemic stroke, they were randomly divided into control group and treatment group with 30 cases for each group, the patients in control group were administered with anti-platelet drugs and statins, and their blood pressure, glucose and body temperature were controlled simultaneously,a rehabilitation direction was given.n addition to the treatments given to the control group, the treatment group was additionally treated with Dachaihu decoction for 2 weeks successively,National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),activities of daily living scale Barthel index(BI score),modified Rankin scale(MRS score)of actually finished activities of daily living,TCM syndrome score and TCM syndrome curative effect were used for evaluation, the adverse reactions of patients in each group before and after treatment were recorded and their safety was evaluated, furthermore, the clinical curative effect and safety of Dachaihu decoction in treating the syndrome of shaoyang and yangming meridians complicated with acute-stage ischemic stroke were comprehensively evaluated by an observation of comparison of difference in data between the two groups and their statistical analysis.Result: 1)clinical effect: the total effective rate of treatment group was92.86%,the total effective rate of control group was 71.43%,the difference in total effective rate between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),the treatment group was superior to control group in terms of effective rate;2)TCM syndrome score: the differences in TCM syndrome score before and after treatment between two groups were all statistically significant. It was indicated by inter-group comparison that, the TCM syndrome was significantly improved in both treatment group and control group, but the treatment group was better;3)In terms of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)and modified Rankin scale(MRS score)of actually finished activities of daily living, the two groups were comparable to each other before the treatment(P>0.05),the difference between two groups after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05),the result showed that, the treatment group was better than control group;4)In terms of activities of daily living scale Barthel index(BI score),the two groups were comparable to each other before the treatment(P>0.05),the difference between two groups after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05),the differences in differential value between two groups before and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05),the treatment group was better than control group;5)Evaluation of safety: no evident change has been found in the results of blood, urine and stool routine test, liver and kidney function examination, coagulation function and ECG examination of both groups before and after treatment, the differences between both groups before and after treatment were all not statistically significant(P>0.05)Conclusion: Dachaihu decoction can improve the degree of neurologic impairment of patients with syndrome of shaoyang and yangming meridians complicated with acute-stage ischemic stroke, and improve their ability of daily living activity.
