ObjectiveApplication of Bo's abdominal acupuncture for treatment of blood stasis type of lumbar disc herniation and evaluation of abdominal acupuncture in improving the curative effect of lumbar disc herniation patients with lumbar pain and functional activities,to providing further research direction and diversification of treatment for lumbar disc herniation clinical research.MethodsA randomized controlled trial of 68 patients with lumbar disc herniation. In accordance with the inclusion criteria of blood stasis type of lumbar disc herniation, all the patients were chosen from outpatients or hospitalized patients of Xinhui Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, during the period from February 2015 to March 2016.68 cases were divided into two groups. The treatment group receiving abdominal acupuncture therapy(n=35),while the control group receiving conventional acupuncture therapy(n=33).Using JOA Low Back Pain assessment system,Oswestry Disability Index questionnaire(ODI)and the pain Visual Analog Scale(VAS)evaluation for curative effect evaluation index, and the curative effect of TCM syndrome criteria as the supplement efficacy variable.Observed the change on clinical symptom in before the treatment, after the first treatment and the end of the treatment, using VAS evaluation and traditional Chinese medicine to determine the efficacy. In before the treatment, the end of the treatment, using ODI and JOA to evaluation effect. All the data set up the database, using SPSS19.0 statistical software for statistical analysis.Results1.There was a statistically significant difference in VAS evaluation and TCM syndrome curative effect between the treatment and control groups in before the treatment, after the first treatment and the end of the treatment(P<0.05);2.The JOA and ODI scores were compared between the two groups before the treatment and the end of the treatment. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);3.At the end of the treatment, two groups of JOA score comparison, after statistical analysis, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);4.At the end of the treatment, two groups of ODI score comparison, after statistical analysis, there was no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion1.Abdominal acupuncture group and conventional acupuncture group have curative effect to reduce lumbar disc herniation in patients with lumbar pain and improve the function of the activity;2.The effect of abdominal acupuncture in the treatment of immediate analgesia significantly, significantly better than conventional acupuncture group;3.After the treatment,no significant difference between the efficacy of abdominal acupuncture group and conventional acupuncture group.
