AimrUnder the background of acupuncture in treating migraine, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to explore the central mechanism of puncturing based on individual curative effects. Methods:This study included 20 cases of positive migraine responders and 20 cases of healthy subjects.Collecting their gender, age, height, weight, education, right-handed such demographic data, and headache days, the average intensity of headache, headache duration per attack, days out of work because of the headache,SAS score,SDS score and MSQ score.Puncturing all the migraine patient after doing BOLD-fMRI.Then analyze the change of ReHo value of all brain area.Results:1.Compared positive migraine responders'demographic data with healthy subjects in gender, age, height, weight, education, right-handed and duration, result shows no statistically significant difference (.P>0.05).2.Compared positive migraine responders'headache days, the average intensity of headache, headache duration per attack, days out of work because of the headache,SAS score,SDS score and MSQ score with negative migraine responders before acupuncture treatment, result shows no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).3.Compared positive migraine responders'headache days, the average intensity of headache, days out of work because of the headache,SAS score,SDS score and MSQ score before and after acupuncture treatment, all result show statistically significant difference(P<0.05)but Headache duration per attack(P>0.05).4.Compared with healthy subjects, the regions with decreased ReHo in positive migraine responders:occipital lobe, temporal lobe, frontal lobe, parietal lobe, thalamus, and the limbic system; Within the limbic system which is closely related to the pain, the regions with decreased ReHo were left parahippocampal gyrus, bilateral putamen, left insula.5.The regions with decreased ReHo in positive migraine responders before and after acupuncture treatment:occipital lobe, temporal lobe.frontal.parietal and limbic system.decreased ReHo of limbic system is left parahippocampal gyrus.6.The regions with increased ReHo in positive migraine responders before and after acupuncture treatment:frontal lobe, parietal lobe, thalamus, and the limbic system; increased ReHo of limbic system:left parahippocampal gyrus, right insula.7. The change of ReHo value and headache intensity within positive migraine responders improves to have a negative correlation.Conclusions:1.Puncturing Shaoyang meridian for migraine can improve their life quality by reducing headache days, decreasing headache intensity, shorting headache duration per attack and days out of work because of the headache, decreasing the SAS scores.SDS score and MSQ score.2. Positive migraine responders" ReHo value of insula was decreased before acupuncture treatment while increased after acupuncture treatment:The negative correlation between ReHo value change of insula and headache intensity shows ReHo value of insula decreasing with strong headache intensity.increasing with lower headache intensity.3.Acupuncture could regulate the insula area to have a effection.
