Objective:to observe the therapeutic effect of combination therapy of Mulberry Apricot Decoction and Compound Methoxyphenamine on treating post-infestious cough, and to compare the symptom of cough, expectoration and itching throat before with after treatment,in addition,to evaluate the security of the treatment.Methods:70 post-infestious cough outpatient were included in our study, and seperated randomly into two groups, the control group (Compound Methoxyphenamine),and the treatment group (combination therapy of Compound Methoxyphenamine and Mulberry Apricot Decoction), take sever days as one course of treatment, lasting two courses. The therapeutic effect, and symptoms score,as well as security were evaluated by observing the totle symptoms score, cough score, expectoration score and itching throat score,as well as visual analogue score, sputum SIgA level and untoward effect.Results:1. Totle treatment effect comparison:The totle treatment effect of Post-infectious Cough were 94.28% and 85.71% in the treatment group and the control group, seperately, difference between the two groups was statistically significant (p<0.05), suggesting that the treatment group has a better effect on treating post-infectious cough and get a better clinical control effect than the control group..2. the totle symptom score comparison:the totle symptom score were compared between prior treatment and posttreatment (one and two weeks later), difference were statistically significant (p<0.05), suggesting that the totle clinical symprom can be improved in both two groups; the totle symptom score were compared between the two groups in the same time (one and two weeks after treatment), difference were statistically significant (p<0.05) suggesting that treatment group have a better curative effect.3.cough score: expectoration score and itching throat score comparison:the cough score, expectoration score and itching throat score were compared between prior treatment and posttreatment (one and two weeks later), difference were statistically significant (p<0.05), suggesting that cough, expectoration and itching throat symprom can be improved in both two groups; the three symptom scores were compared between the two groups in the same time (one and two weeks after treatment), difference were statistically significant (p<0.05),suggesting that treatment group have a better curative effect.4. visual analogue score comparison:visual analogue score was compared between prior treatment and posttreatment (one and two weeks later), difference were statistically significant (p<0.05), suggesting that visual analogue score can be improved in both two groups; visual analogue score was compared between the two groups in the same time (one and two weeks after treatment), difference were statistically significant (p<0.05),suggesting the treatment group have a better curative effect.5. sputum SIgA level comparison:sputum SIgA level was compared between prior treatment and posttreatment(two weeks later), difference was statistically significant (p<0.05) in treatment group, however not statistically significant (p>0.05) in control group; sputum SIgA level was compared between the two groups, difference were statistically significant (p<0.05), suggesting that treatment group can effective improve the SIgA level in bronchial mucosa.6.untoward effect:There had rarely patients whose got swirl or somnolence, and could recoverd after drug withdrawal, suggesting combination therapy of Compound Methoxyphenamine and Mulberry Apricot Decoction was of high security. Conclusion:Both combination therapy of Mulberry Apricot Decoction and Compound Methoxyphenamine can improve the clinical symptom of patients of post-infestious cough. In addition, combination therapy of Mulberry Apricot Decoction and Compound Methoxyphenamine has a better evaluation of therapeutic efficiency and improvement speed than only Mulberry Apricot Decoction,as well as the SIgA level in bronchial mucosa.
