Objective: Comparison and evaluation of clinicaleffect of glass fiber post and quartz fiber post used in maxillary anterior teeth, in order to provide reference for clinical treatment. Methods: Recruited195 patients with a total of 267 anterior teeth in need of post-core-crown restoration in our hospital from January 2010 to December 2012. Root canal treatment were finished for all these tooth. A total of 130 tooth were restored using glass fiber post + resin core+ e- Max porcelain crown, 137 were restored using quartz fiber post +resin core + e- Max all porcelain crown. Patients were observed for three years.SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results: 1 There were two central maxillary incisors lost of two patients in glass fiber post group within three years, and that of quartz fiber post group was one lateral incisor of one patient. The lost teeth were not be taken into comparison.2 128 teeth were repaired with glass fiber post,of which 122 were successful and 6 teeth were failed.136 teeth were repaired with quartz fiber post,of which 133 teeth were successful and 3 teeth were failed. The three-year success rate of glass fiber post and quartz fiber postwere 95.31%and 97.79%, respectively the difference between them was not statistically significant(p> 0.05).3 The proportion of teeth without tooth fracture in glass fiber post group were 100%;There was one central maxillary incisors fractured in quartz fiber post group, and the proportion of teeth without tooth fracture inquartz fiber post group were 99.26%;but the differences have no statistical significance(p > 0.05).4 There was one post of central maxillary incisor fractured in glass fiber post within three years. The proportion of fiber post without post fracture in glass and quartz fiber post group were 99.22% and 100%, but respectively the differences have no statistical significance(p> 0.05).5 There were 5 teeth fall or loose within 3 years in glass fiber post group. There were 3 teeth fall or loose within 3 years in quartz fiber post group, and one of the loose teeth of quartz fiber post also occured fracture in the labial neck. The proportion of glass fiber post without fall or loose was 96.09%,and that of quartz fiber post was 97.79%, the difference between the two was not statistically significant(p > 0.05).Conclusion: The 3-year success rate of the glass fiber post and quartz fiber post in post-core-crown restoration inmaxillary anterior teeth was high, and there was no statistical difference between the two. Both of them could be used for dental restorations.
