Objective::Knee osteoarthritis is a high incidence of orthopedic diseases, mostly in the elderly. Referred to as the aging population of our society, KOA's incidence increased gradually. It brings pain, joint dysfunction, seriously impacts people's quality of life. The main treatment measures include conservative treatment and surgical treatment. Although there are many methods of treatment, there is still a lack of unified and standardized treatment. In view of this, our department does the the clinical efficacy study of arthroscopic cleaning combined with traditional Chinese herbal fumigation therapy, to provide a scientific theoretical basis and feasible method guidance.Methods:98 patients were randomly divided into 2 groups. control group,47 patients,47 knees were treated with Arthroscopy, Treatment group,51 patients,51 knees were treated with arthroscopy debridement and herbal fumigation. Two groups of patients were given Lysholm score, VAS score before and after surgery, expression of MMP- 3 in the two groups were investigated by enzyme- linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), Compared the clinical efficacy of the two groups.Result:Efficacy of treatment group is 90.20%, better than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001); Lysholm score, VAS score of treatment group improved significantly compared with the control group, Expression of MMP-3 in treatment group significantly lower than control group, statistically significant (P <0.05).Conclusion:Arthroscopy with herbal fumigation has better efficacy with the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. The mechanism is closely related to regulation of MMP3 expression.
