A Clinical Study Of The Therapy For The Functional Constipation By The Catgut Embedding Combined With Auricular-plaster

Objective: This study was to compare the symptom scores,clinical effect and quality of life scores between catgut embedding combined with auricular-plaster therapy and single lactulose oral solution for treating the functional constipation,so that it can provide better treatment for the functional constipation,and to improve the patients' quality of life.Methods:80 patients with functional constipation were randomly divided into two groups: the treatment group(the group of the catgut embedding combined with auricular-plaster)and the control group(lactulose oral solution group),each group had 40 patients.The treatment group were treated by catgut embedding therapy once a week and auricular-plaster therapy twice a week,while the control group were treated with 30 ml lactulose oral solution at breakfast once a day,and given 20 ml with maintenance dose after a week.Both groups were treated for a period of 4 weeks,so as to observe the symptom scores after the period and compare the variety of the clinical effect and quality of life scores between the two groups.The results were assessed by SPSS software statistics,and the follow-up information was collected at the first month after the end of the treatment.Results: Through the analysis of clinical study and statistical data,there was no statistical difference in age,gender,course of disease and symptom scores of two groups(P>0.05),so the study was comparative.After the first period,the two treatments were able to improve the symptom scores of patients,but the treatment group was better than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the clinical study showed that there were 39 cases in the treatment group,9 cases were recovered,19 cases had significant effect,8 cases had effect and 3 cases had no effect,the total effectiveness is 92.30%;there were 40 cases in the control group,8 cases were recovered,7 cases had significant effect,21 cases had effect and 4 cases had no effect,the total effectiveness is 90.00%,so the clinical effect of the treatment group is better than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the PAC–QOL evaluation of the treatment group reduced significantly,the quality of life scores in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).We followed up the cases one month later,the symptom scores of the two groups were lower than before,but the treatment group was better than the control group in improving the long-term symptom scores,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);there were 39 cases in treatment group,5 cases were recovered,20 cases had significant effect,9 cases had effect and 5 cases had no effect,the total effectiveness is 87.17%;there were 40 cases in control group,6 cases were recovered,6 cases had significant effect,19 cases had effect and 9 cases had no effect,the total effectiveness is 77.50%,the clinical study had statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)The catgut embedding combined with auricular-plaster therapy for treating the functional constipation not only had good recent curative effect,but also had good forward curative effect.(2)The catgut embedding combined with auricular-plaster therapy can maintain the intestine free,improve the constipated symptoms of patients,shorten the time of defecation,so the comprehensive effect was better than the lactulose oral solution.(3)The catgut embedding combined with auricular-plaster therapy treatment for the functional constipation can effectively reduce the frequency of doctors' office visiting,save the cost of treatment,enhance the patients' self-regulation,is an effective method for the treatment of functional constipation with modern life rhythm.(4)The treatment group had no adverse reactions during the process,while the control group patients have adverse reactions such as abdominal distention,abdominal pain,etc,so that the catgut embedding combined with auricular-plaster therapy for treating the functional constipation is safer and more reliable.
