Welfare Dependence Of Hospitalized Psychiatric Patients Under The Perspective Of Welfare Pluralism

China mental health center which is belonged to Disease control and prevention center published the data that shows that the number of mental patients in China is more than 100 million in early 2009.With the reform of the welfare system,some inpatients depend on the national welfare system.The significance of the project research is to enrich the research areas of mental patients and welfare dependence,to explore ways that how the social workers to intervene patients,to reduce or even eliminate the welfare dependence of inpatients.We chose one mental hospital as our inspection place in the subject.I studied in the hospital for long time,and used interview method to talk with a lot of patients in depth.I made a large number of research and visited many medical staff,families,community to find the real reason that why the healthy patients cannot leave the hospital under the theory of welfare pluralism.Revealing the situation of the mental patients' life under the multiple protection.Between the combat of different interest,author analyzes the real reason of welfare dependence is country's "endless help" and "limited investment" in medical treatment,broken family,social stigma and the patient's "self-stigma",and the patient's negative-physiology and psychology etc.With the help of the hospital,we made a case study about the mental patients and finally helped one of them discharged from the welfare successfully.The theoretical basis is "Welfare pluralism" and the operation guideline is "Case central mode".But unfortunately this patient is back to the hospital,due to the lack of social support which makes disease relapsing.Finally,we put forward some feasible policy suggestions.First of all,from the perspective of national welfare,unbundle and refine the welfare,improve the welfare outside of the hospital,construct the "half-house rehabilitation center" and promote the construction of the judicial system of the rights of mental patients.The second is from point of the family and society,the family should assume the basic responsibilities and obligations,the community should also support the development of relevant professional services.The public and the media should advocate active and healthy culture and spread the positive energy.The community and civil society organizations's active participation is also very important for the mental patients to get rid of welfare dependency.
