A Investigation On Core Competency And Its Influence Factors Of The Practice Nurses

Objective: The purpose of this study is throughing the questionnaire survey, to investigatate the present situation of the practice nurse's core competence and analysis its affecting factors. The research results improve people's awareness of the influencing factors of the core competence of practice nurses, provide reference for improving the core competence of practice nurses, and provide a basis for the education and management of practice nurses. Method: 280 practice nurses in three Tianjin hospital which are tertiary level first-class hospitals are taken as the research objects, a combining questionnaire survey method. Questionnaire survey includes: nurse general information questionnaire, Competency Inventory for Registered Nurses, General Self-Efficacy Scale, Practice Maladjustment Scale and Self-directed Learning Readiness Scale. SPSS 18 statistical software was used for statistical analysis of the data. The analysismethods include Statistical description, Univariate analysis, T test, Variance analysis and multivariate stepwise regression analysis. Results:1 The score of the the 280 practice nurses' core competence ability is 123.25 + 30.84. The nurses professional development score, leadership score, ethics and legal practice score, interpersonal relationship ability score are relatively high, while the clinical nursing score, critical thinking and scientific research score and education consulting ability score are relatively low.2 Single factor analysis results show that the personal factors(education, learning achievement, General Self-Efficacy Sense, Practice Maladjustment, Self-directed Learning Readiness.General Self-efficacy Sense and practice maladaptive, self-directed learning readiness), the teaching factors(classroom atmosphere) and the practice factors(the evaluation of hospital practice, teaching methods, the practice nurses are involved in discussing patient's condition and nursing plan formulation) have significant difference(P < 0.05).3 Multiple stepwise regression analysis show that, the independent risk factors of core competence of practice nurses are General Self-efficacy Sense, practice maladaptive, education, self-directed learning readiness and learning achievement. They can explain the practice of 49.6% of the variation of the core competence of the practice nurses. Conclusion:1 The level of the practice nurse's core competence is in medium offset level, and it still needs to be further improved, especially the clinical nursing ability, evaluation thinking and ability of scientific research and education advisory capacity.2 The influencing factors of core competence of practice nurses are the personal factors(education, learning achievement, General Self-Efficacy Sense, Practice Maladjustment,Self-directed Learning Readiness.General Self-efficacy Sense and practice maladaptive, self-directed learning readiness), the teaching factors(classroom atmosphere) and the practice factors(the evaluation of hospital practice, teaching methods, the practice nurses are involved in discussing patient's condition and nursing plan formulation).3 The independent risk factors of core competence of practice nurses are General Self-efficacy Sense, practice maladaptive, education, self-directed learning readiness and learning achievement. Nursing colleges, universities and hospitals should according to the situation of the core competencies of practice nurses and its influence factor characteristics, in accordance with the "ability of the education " concept, develop the teaching plan and teaching strategies, so as to improve the practice nurse's core competence.
