The Relationship Between Suicide Ideation And Hope Traits, Trait Anger In Depression

Objective To explore the influence factors of suicidal ideation in patients with depression and the influence of hope traits, the trait anger to suicidal ideation.Methods The self-made questionnaire, Self-rating depression scale(SDS) and Self-rating Idea of Suicide Scale(SSIOS), Adult Dispostional Hope Scale(ADHS),Trait Anger Scale(TAs) were used to survey 212 patients with depression.Results 1 The incidence of suicide ideation is different in depressive patients with different age, culture level, occupation, their health status,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2 The depressive patients with a history of attempted suicide had higher incidence of suicide ideation than that patients without a history of suicide attempts, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3 The scores of optimistic,despair, sleep dimension and suicidal ideation was significantly positively related to the score of depression(r=0.565~0.565, P<0.01), and the patients with suicidal ideation had significantly higher depression scale score than those without suicidal ideation(P<0.05).4There were statistically significant difference in two dimensions and the total score of hope traits between the depressive patients with suicide ideation and without,the patients without suicide ideation had higher scores of pathway,agency and hope traits than those with suicide ideation. The scores of optimistic, despair, sleep dimension and suicidal ideation was significantly negatively related to the score of pathway,agency and hope traits(r=0.444~0.444, P<0.01).5 There were statistically significant difference in trait anger between the depressive patients with suicide ideation and without(P<0.05), the patients with suicide ideation had higher scores of trait anger than those without suicide ideation.The scores of optimistic, despair, sleep dimension and suicidal ideation was significantly positively related to the score of trait anger(r=0.414~0.605, P<0.01).6Multiple factors regression analysis showed that: depression, hope traits,trait anger,occupation 2, family economic status 3, their own health 3 had predictive power on suicidal ideation, "depression"( ?=0.411, t=8.140, P<0.01), "trait anger"( ?=0.237, t=5.089, P<0.01), "retirement&worker "( ?=0.148, t=3.673,P<0.01) had the positive prediction effects on suicidal ideation, the "hope traits"(?=-0.304,t=-6.394,P<0.01), "family economic status better&pooer"(?=-0.132,t=-2.877,P<0.05), "their own health better&pooer"(?=-0.097,t=-2.087,P<0.05)had negative prediction effects. 7 The mediation effect analysis showed that, hope traits played partial intermediary role between anger and suicidal ideation, The rate of mediation effect is 34.6%.Conclusion The depressive patients with suicidal ideation had higher levels of depression and trait anger, lower level of hope traits. Trait anger, depression were risk factors for suicide ideation in depressive patients, hope traits was protective factors of suicide ideation. Hope traits played partial intermediary role between anger and suicidal ideation.
