Objective To explore the risk factors of ovarian metastasis from colorectal cancer, and to provide evidence for early diagnosis and treatment. Methods Data of 204 female patients with colorectal cancer treated from January 2003 to December 2012 in Fujian Provincial cancer hospital were collected. Selection of age of onset, menstruation and colorectal cancer tumor site, maximum diameter, gross type, pathological type, degree of differentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node transfer and preoperative serum CEA level as the indicators to evaluate the risk factors of patients with ovarian metastasis from colorectal cancer. The design method of case-control study was used.Statistical analysis are carried out by SPSS software(version 18.0 for window). First of all, through the chi square test of above indexes were analyzed by univariate analysis, and then logistic regression are used to analysis which is statistical significance(p<0.05) in the single factor analysis. Results 1. We collected 204 cases in total, 50 of them were set as colorectal cancer group, which had synchronous or metachronous ovarian metastasis. Control group contained 133 cases of patients who had received radical surgery, which fulfilled with 3 yrs follow-up or till to death without ovarian metastases. 2.There are close relationships between colorectal cancer with ovarian metastasis and age of onset(p=0.000),menstruation(p=0.000) and colorectal cancer tumor site(p=0.01),pathological type(p=0.004), degree of differentiation(p=0.000), depth of invasion(p=0.000), lymph node transfer(p=0.000) and preoperative serum CEA level(p=0.000)showed by single-factor analysis. In other words, female colorectal cancer had such risk factors as age of onset which is less than 50 years of age, menopause, tumor in colon, pathological type of Mucinous adenocarcinoma or ring cell carcinoma, degree of differentiation, low differentiation, depth of invasion as transmural or serosa, lymph node metastasis and preoperative serumCEA level is greater than or equal to 10 ng / ml have a greater risk of metastatic ovarian. And it has nothing to do with the maximum diameter of the tumor(p=0.05) and the gross type(p=0.806). 3.Age of onset(P=0.000,B=-1.782,OR=0.168).lymph node transferand(P=0.000,B=2.576,OR=13.14),preoperative serum CEA level(P=0.000,B=3.053,OR=21.172) were independent risk factors associated with ovarian metastasis from Colorectal cancer in multivariate analysis. Conclusions There are close relationships between colorectal cancer with ovarian metastasis and age of onset, menstruation and the tumor site, pathological type, degree of differentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node transfer and preoperative serum CEA level. The age of onset of less than 50 years of age, lymph node metastasis and preoperative serum CEA is greater than or equal to 10 ng / ml are independent risk factors for female colorectal cancer with ovarian metastasis...
