Objective:Using sport bracelets(wearable devices) to evaluate daily movement function of Parkinson's disease; To explore the feasibility of quantitatively measuring the daily activity in patients with Parkinson's disease, the feasibility of monitoring medication-induced motor fluctuations,as well as the relationship between daily movement function and age, gender, education, disease duration,Hohn-Yahr stage, UPDRS?scores,UPDRS ?scores and the levodopa equivalent doses. As a part of the wearable device system, whether the sport bracelet has the potential to provide a new method for the quantitative assessment of motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease patients. Methods:Through the case-control study,we used the sport bracelets to monitoring the daily movement function of 21 patients with Parkinson's disease and 20 healthy volunteers, and analyzed the exercise, exercise types and duration of sleeping in the two groups, analyzed the exercise in the twice hour after taking levodopa and in one hour before in patients,as well as the correlation between daily movement function and age, gender, education, disease duration, Hohn-Yahr stage,UPDRS?scores, UPDRS ?scores and the levodopa equivalent doses in the two groups. Results:The exercise, each type of activity, average speed, and duration of sleeping in patients were significantly lower than in control, difference was statistically significant( p<0.05). The exercise in the twice hour after taking levodopa was significantly higher than in one hour before, difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that age, gender, education, disease duration,Hohn-Yahr stage,UPDRS?scores,UPDRS ?scores and the levodopa equivalent doses were not related with daily movement function(p>0.05) in Parkinson's disease. In the control group, age and education were associated with daily movement function(p<0.05),while gender was unrelated(p>0.05).Conclusion: Continuous monitoring of daily activity may be more useful than a test in revealing differences between patients of Parkinson's disease and healthy people. The quantitative assessment of the daily movement may indicative medication-induced motor fluctuations.Daily movement function may be related to age, education, but has nothing to do with gender, disease duration, Hohn-Yahr stage,UPDRS?scores,UPDRS ? scores and the levodopa equivalent doses in Parkinson's disease.Sport bracelets have the potential to provide an economic,non-invasive and portable quantitative assessment tool for patients' motion, that helps guiding drug therapy monitoring and exercise rehabilitation treatment of Parkinson's patients in the future.
