| Objective Using the method of evidence-based systematic review to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for periarthritis of shoulder, aiming to provide the references for clinical treatment.Methods Adopting the method of systematic review and with the help of Cochrane Handbook(Version 5.1.0), RevMan5.3 software and Note Express 3.2.0 software, we built up the strategies for literature search, inclusion and exclusion, completed the final inclusive literatures. Then we extracted data, and judged the bias of each literature, evaluated the quality from the perspective of methodology. At last, we made the systematic review of acupuncture for periarthritis of shoulder form the aspects of effective rate, ROM scores, VAS and other pain scales, integral scores of shoulder and quality of patient’s life, in addition, evaluated the safety of acupuncture and other therapeutic methods for periarthritis of shoulder.Results In conclusion, we incorporated 15 literatures, containing 9 Chinese versions and 6 English versions, in which 2 literatures reached to A grade in evaluation of methodology. More important, we found that acupuncture was superior to physical therapy and Tuina therapy in effective rate, superior to western medicine in VAS scores, and better than COT and other sham acupuncture method in treating periarthritis of shoulder.Conclusion 1. Acupuncture was superior to physical therapy, Tuina therapy, western medicine and COT, as well as other therapies in different outcomes.2. Acupuncture therapy was quiet safe in treating periarthritis of shoulder. |
