Chronic subjective dizziness is a chronic non-rotational dizziness or subjective sense of imbalance, accompanied by highly sensitive to motor stimuli and complex visual stimuli but generally is not associated with vestibular disorders. These symptoms are often caused by physical or mental illness, dizziness and instability still exist after the incident relief.Predisposing factors included anxiety personality and previous vestibular dysfunction. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor(SSRI) has been reported in foreign countries, which has a certain therapeutic effect on chronic subjective dizziness, but not effective for all patients. In recent years, significant progress has been made in this field, some new treatment methods were invented.DHI, HADS, SF-36 scales were used to assess anxiety, depressionand quality of life, to investigate whether age was one of factors for anxiety, depression, dizziness degree, to assess clinical efficacy of comprehensive treatment.40 patients with chronic subjective dizziness were randomly assigned to study group and control group. DHI, HADS and SF-36 scales were used to assess before entering the group. The treatment of study group included drug, vestibular rehabilitation and biofeedback behavioral cognitive therapy, the control group was with drug treatment. All patients were followed up for six weeks and pre and post treatment at 2th, 4th, 6th weeks were assessed by DHI, HADS and SF-36 scales.DHI, HADS and SF-36 scale scores were not statistically significance(P>0.05) about the study group and the control group at 2th weeks after treatment. Both 4th and 6th week DHI, HADS and SF-36 scale scores were statistically significantly(P< 0.05) about the study group and the control group. DHI, HADS and SF-36 scale scores were not statistically significance(P>0.05) between the study and control group. Both 4th and6 th week DHI, HADS and SF-36 scale scores were statistically significantly(P< 0.05) between the study and control group. The study indicated that vestibular rehabilitation and biofeedback behavioral cognitive therapy could significantly improve symptoms of dizziness, improving anxiety, depression and quality of life.
