Objective: This project aims to observe left-right descending acupoints selection in treating functional constipation. The Bristol and CCS were adopted in the case of change, and compared with conventional acupoints selection. To provide the references for acupoints selection method, curative effect of acupuncture treating functional constipation in clinic.Method: 60 patients with functional constipation were randomly divided into the left-up right-down acupoints selection group and conventional acupoints selection group, each group of 30 cases. Through the contrast within the groups pre-treatment and post-treatment, and comparison between two groups, observe changes of Bristol scores and CCS in each groups.Result: Observation after two courses of treatment, two groups of patients with functional constipation in Bristol scores, CCS were obviously reduced after the treatment, total effective rate of left-up right-down find acupoints selection group was 86.67%, and the conventional acupoints selection group was 83.33%, we found out that there was no statistically significant difference in total effective rate between two acupoints selection method. 1. Two groups of Bristol scores comparison: Bristol ratings of the two groups of patients after treatment compared with that of before treatment, there were significant differences(P?0.05); Bristol ratings in the two groups of patients after treatment comparison were significantly different(P?0.05). 2. Two groups of CCS scores comparison: after treatment two groups in patients with CCS scoring results compared with before treatment, there were significant differences(P?0.05); CCS ratings of the two groups of patients after treatment between two groups was no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion: The results showed that left up right down acupoints selection method had better curative effect than conventional acupuncture in treating functional constipation, however, there was no significant differences in general curative effect between two groups. In Bristol scores comparison, both groups could significantly improve properties of excrement and urine, and left up-right down acupoints selection group was better than ordinary acupuncture group. Both ways of acupoints selection method could significantly reduce CCS score as a result, improve clinical symptoms in patients with constipation, and there was no significant difference between the two methods.
