Clinical Curative Effect Of Tongqiao Zhiti Formula On Allergic Rhinitis Due To Deficiency And Coldness Of Lung And Spleen

Objective:The research is to observe the clinical curative effect of Tongqiao Zhiti formula on the allergic rhinitis out of the deficiency and coldness of lung and spleen,to explore its functional mechanism,so as to provide the basis of clincal application.Methods:80 patients are adopted as the objects in the experiment, who reach the criteria of diagnose of persistent allergic rhinitis and also the dialectical criteria of allergic rhinitis out of deficiency and coldness of lung and spleen. Then the subjects will be divided into two groups randomly with 40 patients in each group. The patients in the treatment group take Tongqiao Zhiti Formula twice a day, while the patients in control group take cetirizine orally once before bedtime. Then the changing data in two and four weeks before and after the treatment, such as the major syndromes,symptoms and criterions are all to be collected and evaluated.Results:1. Observation in the overall curative:After two weeks, the treatment group has appreciable effects for 8 objects,efficiency for 21, invalid for 11, whose total efficiency is 74.36 percent. As for the control group, the number of the appreciate effects, efficiency and invalid is 6, 23, 10 respectively and its total number is 74.36 percentage. However, there is no statistical meaning in comparison with the number of P value higher than 0.5.After four weeks, there are appreciable effects for 19 objects, efficiency for 15,invalid for 6 in treatment group, and its total efficiency is 85 percent. As for control group, there are appreciable effects for 17 objects, efficiency for 13, invalid for 9, and the total efficiency is 76.92 percent. After four weeks, the number of total efficiency of treatment group is higher that that of control group, which does not make sense in statistics with p value higher than 0.5.2. Observation in major syndromesAfter two weeks' treatment, the syndromes of rhinorrhea, sneezing, nasal obstruction, rhinocnesmus in two groups are all improved. The comparison of before treatment and after treatment in each group was statistically significant(P < 0.05). As for the comparison between twp groups, the improvement of main symptoms has no statistical significance(P > 0.05).After four weeks' treatment, the syndromes of rhinorrhea, sneezing, nasal obstruction, rhinocnesmus in two groups are all improved. The comparison of beforetreatment and after treatment in each group was statistically significant(P < 0.05). As for the comparison between two groups, the improvement of sneezing is more efficient, which also has statistical significance(P < 0.05).3. Observation in improving the physical signs:After two weeks' and four weeks' treatment, the syndromes of turbinate swelling in each group are all improved. The comparison of before treatment and after treatment in each group was statistically significant(P < 0.05). As for the comparison between two groups, the improvement of turbinate swelling has no statistical significance(P > 0.05).4. Observation in improving subordinate syndromes:After two weeks' treatment, the syndromes of coldness and eating little in treatment groups are efficiently improved which was statistically significant(P <0.05). As for the control group, there is no obvious improvement of these symptoms,which has no statistical significance(P > 0.05). As for the comparison of two groups,the improving percentages of each syndrome in treatment group are higher than that in control group. The improving percentages of intolerance of coldness and eating little in treatment is more efficient than those of control group, which is statistically significant(P < 0.05).After four weeks' treatment, the syndromes in treatment groups are all efficiently improved, which has statistical significance(P < 0.01), while the improvement of control group is not obvious, which is not statistically significant.(P >0.05) As for the comparison between two groups, the improvement of each syndrome in treatment is higher than that of control group, which reflect that improvements of intolerance of coldness, eating little, loose stool and coldness in back are more efficient than those of control group, which also has statistical significance(P < 0.01).Conclusion : Tongqiao Zhiti formula could treat patients suffering allergic rhinitis, and especially have a positive effect on allergic rhinitis out of the deficiency and coldness of lung and spleen, whose demerits are to improve the corporeity of deficiency and coldness of lung and spleen radically, so as to reach the goal of treating the patients and promote their living quality, which needs to be popularized and extended.
