Purposes:This experiment aims at using simple accurate Chinese herbal diet, which is an acceptable therapeutic method for patients, to conduct clinical observation on therapeutic effects of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, so as to provide a new idea for treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrheic type, further develop advantages and characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine in modern disease treatment process and improve clinical effects. Methods:Selected 60 patients, who conformed to index of irritable bowel syndrome with depressed liver and deficient spleen and treated in Digestive System Department of Lianyungang East Hospital from June 2014 to July 2015, and divided them into treatment group and control group for 30 patients. The control group adopted Trimebutine Maleate capsules to take orally for treatment, and the treatment group was given Chinese Herbal Diet Tuckahoe congee of atractylodes and paeonia for 200ml every time, while curing with conventional western medicine. Both groups had one course of treatment for 4 weeks. Patients in two groups were recorded and conducted statistics before and after treatment, including main clinical symptoms and TCM syndromes. After finishing course of treatment, SPSS17.0 was used to conduct statistical analysis of data before and after treatment. Results:After treatment for 4 weeks, by comparing with main syndrome integrals, two groups before and after treatment had statistical difference (P<0.05). The treatment group had no statistical significance by comparing with the control group in stomachache and defection frequency syndrome integrals (P>0.05), while stool property symptom integrals had statistical difference (P<0.05), reminding that two groups had therapeutic equivalence in stomachache and defection frequency of patients. In the improvement of stool property, treatment group was superior to the control group. Compared with minor syndrome integrals, two groups before and after treatment had statistical significance (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, syndrome integrals of borborygmus flatus, inappetence, emotional depression or irritability, stool grume in treatment group had statistical difference (P<0.05), reminding that improvement extent of borborygmus flatus, inappetence, emotional depression or irritability, and stool grume was superior to the control group. Aggregate scores of TCM syndrome in patients of two groups before and after treatment had statistical significance (P<0.05). After treatment, by making a comparison between the treatment group and the control group, aggregate scores of TCM syndrome had statistical difference (P<0.05). After finishing course of treatment, the treatment group cured 1 patient,17 patients were excellent,9 patients were effective,3 patients were ineffective, total effective rate was 90.00%, cure-remarkable-effectiveness rate (cure rate+ significant efficiency) was 60%. In the control group, no patient was cured,7 patients were excellent,16 patients were effective,7 patients were ineffective, total effective rate was 76.67%, and cure-remarkable-effectiveness rate was 23.33%. Through chi-square test, total effective rate in two groups had statistical significance (P<0.05). Cure-remarkable-effectiveness rate had statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusions:After treating patients in two groups, various symptoms of patients in the treatment group were improved. In the improvement of patients' cardinal symptoms, the control group was quite equivalent to the treatment group, but was not obvious in the improvement of some minor symptoms. Improvement of clinical symptoms and statistical results proved that Chinese Herbal Diet had good therapeutic action on irritable bowel syndrome with depressed liver and deficient spleen. The effect was superior to pure western medicine treatment, especially for improving entire discomfort of patients and alleviating patients' pain, so as to improve living quality of patients. Moreover, due to simple operation and relatively lower expenses, if patients can insist for a long time, it will have clinical research value.
