The Status And Influential Factors Of Posttraumatic Growth In Patients With Breast Cancer

Objective: by investigating the present situation of the breast cancer patients with posttraumatic growth(PTG),then analysis the influence factors of posttraumatic growth changes and their interaction relations,to effectively identify clinical need to focus on and provide a scientific basis for intervention of objects.Methods:In accordance with the principle of simple random sampling,random number table method is adopted to improve the sampling without replacement.A cross-sectional survey was carried,breast cancer patients were recruited continuously by convenient method in Dalian from October 2014 to Decmber 2014.A total of 300 breast cancer patients were investigated using General Information Questionnaire,Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI),Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ),Self-Esteem Scale(SES),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ).Respectively from the patient's general situation,posttraumatic growth situation and personality to deal with stress,self-efficacy,social support and ways to cope with the irritable conditions to investigate.Results:1.The average PTG score was 59.83±12.90,with an interpersonal score of20.82±8.97,a new possibility score of 14.33±8.11,a personal power score of12.66±7.01,a mental change score of 4.65±2.72,and an appreciate life score of10.35±3.31.2.(1)Univariate analysis showed that residence,medical insurance,former state of health,education level,employment status,financial status,cancer stages,retaining breast,and postoperative complications were related to PTG level(P<0.001).(2)The scores of confrontation,self-esteem and social support were positively correlated with total score and each factor score of PTGI(P<0.01).The scores of extroversion-introversion,negative emotion,passive coping and neuroticism were negatively correlated with total score of PTGI.(P<0.01).3.The regression analysis of scores of surgical method,coping style,self-efficacy social support,and PTG score: After regression analysis,self-esteem,retaining breast,social support and positive emotion were predictors of PTG,which could explain 68.8%of the total variance.Social support is the most important predictor of PTG.Conclusion: In the process of treatment in patients with breast cancer,the patients can achieve positive change in their psychology,called PTG.Disease treatment,level of education,family income,payment method,extroversion-introversion,positive emotion,self-efficacy and social support are the influence factors of PTG patients.And social support is the most important predictor of PTG.This conclusion as a guidance for clinical the first line of the nursing work,in order to further develop the corresponding rationalization basis was provided for the intervention measures.
