Objectives:1. To understand the level of posttraumtic growth of the breast cancer patients;2. To adopt combined with cognitive behavior intervention of positive psychology on patients with breast cancer;3. To evaluate the effect of intervention by the psychological scales.Methods:This was a random contrasted experimental design.72patients with breast cancer accepting modified radical mastectomy in the second xiangya hospital of central south university were selected to be samples. They were randomly divided into two groups,36in the control group,36in the intervention group. Patients in the intervention group were received combined with cognitive behavior intervention of positive psychology. While those in the control group were given routine care. The outcome of posttraumatic growth, depression, medical coping modes and general self-efficacy were evaluated at per,l month and3months during the intervention, to analysis the effectiveness of intervention.Results:1. the level of posttraumtic growth of the72breast cancer patients were59.15±13.759,top three of the most frequently reported growth experience were "I can better appreciate every day (95.8%)", I have more compassion for others (98.6%)", I learned a great deal about how wonderful people are (94.4%)".2. The combined with cognitive behavior intervention of positive psychology therapy improved the breast cancers’posttraumtic growth level, medical coping modes, general self-efficiency and reduced the level of depression.Conclusions:1. Breast cancer patients in this study reported high level of posttraumtic growth. The most change of posttraumtic growth includes two dimensions which were perception of relationship with others and perception of life philosophy.2. Cognitive behavior therapy combined with positive psychological impact on breast cancers’ posttraumtic growth level, medical coping modes, general self-efficiency and depression.
