ObjectiveThe main purpose of the study is to observe the effect of Dingjing Decoction in treating endometrial polyps with kidney deficiency and blood stasis after hysteroscopic operation, and objectively record the menstruation, symptoms of TCM, the recurrence of EPs of the patients, to evaluate the efficacy and clinical advantages of Dingjing Decoction on prevention and cure of endometrial polyps with kidney deficiency and blood stasis.MethodsTotally 94 cases in accordance with the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into 3 groups, TCM group of 31 cases, western medicine group of 32 cases, and black control group of 31 cases. The TCM group took Dingjing Decoction from the 8th day of menstrual circle for 14 days (they took the decoction right after surgery in the same month), the western medicine group took Dydrogesterone tablets from the 16th day of menstrual circle for 10 days with treatment period of 3 courses, which correspond to 3 menstrual circle, the black control group was surgery alone. Researchers were required to record the menstruation, symptoms of TCM, the endometrial thickness and the recurrence of EPs, in order to evaluate the clinical efficacy in patients in the 3th and the 6th menstrual circle after the surger. Finally the data was calculated and analyzed by SPSS17.0 software package.Results1.3 groups were compared in age, the score of main and minor symptoms of TCM, the total score, the distribution of disease degree, and the endometrial thickness before hysteroscopic operation. Through the statistical analysis, no significant difference was discovered(P>0.05), which proved that 3 groups met the requirements of statistical analysis and had comparability between groups.2. Comparison of the score of main symptoms of TCM:No statistital significance was found among 3 groups through the comparison of the scores after 3 treatment courses for there was no significant difference between groups(P>0.05), but the difference was significant after 6 courses(P<0.05). Through pairwise comparison, there were significant differences in the comparison between TCM group and black control group, and the comparison between western medicine group and black control group(P<0.05). Data revealed that 3 treatment methods all can improve the menstrual imbalance, and the longer the observation period lasts, the better the clinical efficacy of TCM will be.3. Comparison of the score of minor symptoms of TCM:There were significant differences among 3 groups through the comparison of the score after 3 and 6 treatment courses(P<0.05). Data showed that TCM was the best in improving minor symptoms among 3 treatment methods.4. Comparison of the total score about symptoms of TCM:There were significant differences among 3 groups through the comparison of the total score after 3 and 6 treatment courses(P<0.05). Through pairwise comparison, there were significant differences between TCM group and black control group, and between western medicine group and black control group(P<0.05). However, there was no difference within 3 groups(P>0.05). Data revealed that 3 treatment methods all can improve the symptoms of TCM, but the difference within each other was not obvious. However with longer observation time, the efficacy of TCM group in improving symptoms of TCM would be better.5. Comparison of the endometrial thickness:Significant differences were found between TCM group and black control group, and between western medicine group and black control group after 3 treatment courses(P<0.05). After 6 courses, there were significant differences among 3 groups(P<0.05). Furthermore, the significant differences were recorded between 3 courses and 6 courses within groups which included western medicine group and black control group(P<0.05). Data proved that TCM group was the best to restrain abnormal endometrial hyperplasia.6. Comparison of the clinical efficacy:There were significant differences among 3 groups through the comparison of the clinical efficacy after 3 and 6 treatment courses(P<0.05). Through pairwise comparison, there were significant differences between TCM group and black control group, and between western medicine group and black control group(P<0.05). Data revealed that clinical efficacy of black control group was worse than that of the TCM group, and efficacy of TCM group was fairly the same to western medicine group.7. Comparison of the recurrence of EPs:There was no case recur in 3 treatment courses. However, the recurrence rate of black control group (16.67%) was significantly higher than western medicine group (3.33%) and TCM group (0%) in 6 treatment courses. Through statistical analysis, there were significant differences among 3 groups (P<0.05). But no significant difference was found in pairwise comparison(P>0.05). Conclusion1. Dingjing Decoction could significantly improved menstrual imbalance and symptoms of TCM in treating endometrial polyps with kidney deficiency and blood stasis after hysteroscopic operation.2. Dingjing Decoction could significantly restrain abnormal endometrial hyperplasia and reduce recurrence rate of endometrial polyps.3. There is no obvious adverse reaction in treating endometrial polyps with kidney deficiency and blood stasis after hysteroscopic operation, which reveals that Dingjing Decoction is worth of clinical promotion and application.
