A Study Of Medical Ethics Situation In Military Hospitals In Beijing Area And The Strategy Research

Objective:Through a survey of 12 military hospitals in Beijing area,this article focus on understanding the medical ethics situation and underlying problems in these hospitals.We also analyze the data to propose some suggestions on how to build the medical ethics.The results of this study provide some scientific management basis for the military-civilian healthy administrations and hospitals.Methods:We conduct a questionnaire survey in 12 military hospitals in Beijing area including 294 medical staffs,193 local patients and 198 military patients.Then we analyze the data.Results:1.Evaluation of the relationship between medical staffs and patients58.1 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with the current medical ethics,7.6 % of respondents said the current medical ethics were not satisfactory,the patients who feel medical ethics is in general take part of 34.3 %.According to the survey,the evaluations of the physician-patient relationship are different among different groups(x2=40.1,P<0.05).The overall evaluation of medical ethics is higher in medical staffs compared with the local patients and military patients.2.Analysis of the reasons leading to different satisfaction rate of medical ethics.(1)In terms of the industry trend,we compare the constitution of ethics problems among the 3 different groups via chi-square test(x2=87.4,P<0.05).Medical staffs believe other factors are outstanding issues of medical ethics,Local patients and military patients consider excessive prescriptions and checklists are outstanding problems.(2)In terms of institutional structure,Inadequate medical and health management system and guarantee system;Irrational allocation of health resources;Inadequate medical ethics relevant laws mechanism(education and punishment)are the three major problems.(3)In terms of doctor-patient communication,nearly half of the people think it is poor.For the main reasons of the difficulties,Military Patients thinks that education is the key factor that causes the difficulties,while the local patients thinks that the doctor-patient status is the most important factor.(4)In the terms of news media,we compare the evaluations of mass media influence via chi-square test(x2=135.3,P<0.05),medical staff thinks for the news media factors,lots of false reports lead to social misunderstanding of the medical staff and affect benign development of medical ethics;local patients think authentic reported is the most helpful way that may help in supervising the medical system;military patients think that the news media did authentic report,but improper way of media report is the major factor that leads to the misunderstanding of medical system.Conclusions:1.The overall medical ethics situation in military hospital is satisfactory but there are still some points are unsatisfactory.2.The medical staff show different opinions compare with the patients toward the industry atmosphere.3.The medical ethics system need to be further built.4.Insufficient communication between medical staff and patients is the consensus.5.The medical staff think that untruthful report do harm to the development of the medical ethics system.The patients think that the authentic report can accelerate the build of transparent medical work.6.Improve the guarantee system and increase government investment,strengthen the supervision of the hospital,strengthen the propaganda and education of medical ethics are the three factors that considered to be the major ways to improve the satisfaction of medical ethics.
