Objective:To observe clinical efficacy of eight magic turtle techniques with routine acupuncture treatment to peripheral facial palsy, thus providing the safe curative effect and long-lasting acupuncture treatment programs for the disease. Methods:We use a randomized controlled trial of clinical research methods.Selecting 60 patients of peripheral facial palsy as the cases of study, according to the ratio of 1:1 were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each group consisted of 30 patients.Opposing Lingguibafa with routine acupuncture treatment was used in the treatment group while the control group used the routine acupuncture treatment. The two group are in a course for 10 days, evaluation of curative effect after two courses of treatment were.Refer to House-Brackmann(H-B)evaluation form of facial nerve function grading scale and <assessment and the curative standard of combining tradition Chinese and western medicine in treating peripheral facial paralysis> to formulate curative standard.Observe and record the treatment group and control group recovered treatment times and the prognostic influence factor of age(<40,?40),H-B evaluation form of facial nerve function grading scale, facial nerve paralysis grading scale form and facial disability index(FDI)scale form are used for comparing the outcome.Using statistical software of SPSS 21.0 to carry on the statistical analysis of the collected data.Record and properly deal with the adverse events at any time in the course of safety evaluation of two groups.Evaluate whether the adverse events and the acupuncture therapy is relevant.Results:1.Following the pilot scheme a total of 60 patients completed the treatment. No patient was dropped out in the treatment group and control group. After two course of treatment, the treatment group shows the effective rate of 86.87%,the total effective rate of 96.67%,while control group show 63.33% effective rate,90.00% total effective rate.compared two group of the effective rate and clinical curative effect, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),while no significant difference is showed in the total effective rate(P>0.05).2.After treatment, the H-B facial nerve grading scale, peripheral facial paralysis scale and facial disability index score of two groups compared with before treatment shows statistically significant difference(P<0.01).3.After treatment,There are significant differences between treatment and control group in the evaluation of facial nerve function grading, somatic function of FDIP(P<0.05),while no significant difference is showed in sociality of FDIS(P>0.05).4.The total time taken for full recovery in both groups exhibited significant statistical difference(P<0.05).5.By comparison of curative effect of the below and above(including)40 yrs after two course of treatment, there is a significant difference(P<0.05).6.Not found safety problem in the safety evaluation of this study. Conclusion:eight magic turtle techniques with routine acupuncture and routine acupuncture treatment both are effective for treating peripheral facial paralysis in acute stage;also can significantly improve the facial nerve function, physical status and sociality of peripheral facial, but the eight magic turtle techniques with routine acupuncture is even more effective than the routine acupuncture and can short treatment course.Age has certain influence on the surrounding sex facial paralysis efficacy, age light person curative effect is superior to the age.The results of the study indicate that combining eight magic turtle techniques and conventional needle in treatment of peripheral palsy in acute stage that could cure the disease quickly and get the high curative effect. Also based on its high safety it is worth to be used in clinical widely.
