Objective:To discuss the clinical features of peripheral facial paralysis patients of differentcauses.Method:100patients with peripheral facial paralysis in Department ofOtorhinolaryngology of First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University wereanalyzed from2008to2013. Discuss the clinical features for each group of clinicaltreatment of facial paralysis according to different causes which were treated byconservative treatment or operation treatment.Results:The percentage of each cause: otitis media was37%, tumor was13%, Bell palsywas12%, Hunt syndrome was12%, traumatic facial paralysis was8%, iatrogenicfacial paralysis was6%, congenital facial paralysis was5%and previous facialparalysis was7%. According to the different courses and different classifications offacial nerve function, it was found that the shorter duration, the better recovery offacial paralysis; the lower facial nerve function grading, the better recovery of facialparalysis.Conclusion:The prognosis of peripheral facial paralysis associated with the duration andseverity of palsy. According to the different causes of facial paralysis, it wasnecessary to take qualitative diagnosis and localized diagnosis. And it was alsonecessary to determine the appropriate therapy after taking the surfaceelectrophysiological diagnosis and imaging examination. It was necessary to choosethe operation as soon as possible when conservative treatment was invalid.
