Objectives:To investigate the status of radiation protection management in rural public health centers in Anhui Province to provide important basis to strengthen radiation hygiene supervision at basic level to protect the health of radiation workers in rural public health centers.Methods:The questionnaires were filled in to learn the current situation of radiation protection in 1384 rural public health centers in 16 cities divided into districts across province, the radiation workers'medical examination data from 2013 to 2014 in rural public health centers reported by the occupational physical examination institutes were randomly sampled, abnormal personal dose detection data in 2014 were selected, which were handed over to health and family planning commission of Anhui province by radiation hygiene technical service institutions to engage in dose monitoring of individuals externally exposed to X andyrays.Results:The qualification rate of 11 indices to reflect the status of radiation protection in rural public health centers was low, especially the rate of centers which established sound radiation worker occupational health archives was only 25.95%, the rate of centers which could provide personal protective articles for the subjects and the rate of centers which periodically undertook machine room protection detection and machine performance detection were all less than 50%; Overall, health status of radiation workers was good, but the reduced rate of white cells and platelets in peripheral blood, the eye lens opacities rate detected by slit lamp and the lymphocyte micronuclei abnormality rate in 953 radiation workers in rural town hospitals were 3.78%,3.36%, 5.67%and 0.63%, respectively. There was no significant difference between the health states of radiation workers in those rural town hospitals with different kind, different number of radiation diagnosis and therapy equipments, distinct work load and equipment room area (P>0.05); there was significant difference between the lymphocyte micronuclei abnormality rate of radiation workers in rural town hospitals with distinct equipment room use years (P<0.05); there was significant difference between the reduction rate of peripheral blood white cells and platelets and the lymphocyte micronuclei abnormality rate of radiation workers in rural town hospitals with different radiation protection management situation (P<0.05).Conclusions:The protection conditions in radiation diagnosis in rural town hospitals were inferior, there were more hidden security and health danger. The more solid and sound and perfect radiation protection management, the less occupational impairment in radation workers.
