Objective:Grasp the radiological protection situation of X-ray luggage inspection system in Ji’nan Railway Bureau, propose measures and recommendations for radiological protection, provide theoretical basis for the management of radiation-related work protection provisions.Methods:1. The ionizing radiation intensity of import, export, travelers channel,operator position and surface of87X-ray baggage inspection system of the Jinan Railway Bureau stations was detected, using451P type X.γ.β portable ionization chamber radiation survey meter, which made in U.S. INOVISION Company, according to the requirements of "Radiological protection standard for X-ray luggage inspection system".2. Measurement data of radiation intensity is entered with EXCEL2007, analyzed by IBM SPSS Statistics19. The distribution of the measured values on import, export, travelers channel,operator position and surface of X-ray baggage inspection system was described, and compared with the environmental background values. Compare radiation intensity value of each measurement point deteced by X-ray luggage inspection systems of different manufacturers. Test homogeneity of variance before t-test or analysis of variance. Wilcoxon test was used for statistical analysis if the data neither meet the requirements of homogeneity of variance nor in the normal distribution.3. Access to the relevant laws, regulations, standards and related documents, proposed improvements and recommendations for X-ray protection measures of Jinan Railway Bureau.Results:1. All the radiation intensity results detected by87X-ray luggage inspection systems of Ji’nan Railway Bureau are in line with limits of "Radiological protection standard for X-ray luggage inspection system"(5μGy/h). The values of radiation intensity in import and export(P25-P75) are higher than in other locations, the values of surface on the system are equal with environmental background values.2. Each measurement point of X-ray luggage inspection system and environmental values of the background radiation were compared, getting the result that the practice caused by X-ray radiation and environmental background values are significantly different, with P values less than0.05. Radiation intensity of the same location deected by different X-ray luggage inspection system manufacturers are incomplete same, with P values less than0.05; The radiation intensity of passenger channel, operator position and surface between Shanghai Eastimage Image Equipment Co., Ltd.and other companies producings are significantly different, with P values less than0.05.3. X-ray luggage inspection system can not be radioactive exemption, Jinan Railway Bureau should manage in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.Conclusion:1. Although radiation intensity of X-ray luggage inspection systems are in line with national standards, Jinan Railway Bureau still need to arrange the location of X-ray luggage inspection system reasonably, increase the protective barrier, replace lead plastic curtain timely to minimize X-ray exposure of workers and passengers suffered.2. Jinan Railway Bureau should organize radiology knowledge training of X-ray luggage inspection system operator and the surrounding staff, detect instruments and individual radiation intensity regularly, establish and improve personal occupational health records.
